Where do u guys stand on ripping off other peoples sigs??
i wa just surfing ta eve forums and some unimaginative 'person' named Pali has seriously ripped off my former corps unique sigs. i think its wrong..what do u think?

Yeah, my old sig I did for BSC, was used for years till some dude ripped it. He must of downloaded the .PSD from somewhere.

It deserves a repeated kicking in the genitals in my opinion.
Theres just no need, unless your a talentless idiot, in which case at least have the respect to not rip off someone elses, or pay someone to do up a sig for you.
Then again...you could make a sig with a pretty similar layout to another persons by accident....but there is a line where it becomes obvious that you're just ripping them off.
I like your "Element: Laythun" one by the way. 
...on the other hand using a banana might be a viable alternative.

outright stealing just plain sux... that said, alot of sigs look very much alike quite simply because customers ask for similar stuff for some reason and there are some harsh eve-o limitations aswell.. also using a basic technique wont nessesarily imply ripoff.. but no doubt.. as always, outright ripoffs blows.. but is this a big problem in the eve community? /me wants to know who rips who off

Its annoying to say the least but is it plagiarism?
if you copying someones layout/design, your starting from scratch. Any normal person would then also mod it from here. So you end up with something unique.
You can see that happening all over these forums. Someone makes a sig, then a trend follows.
I donno weird subject. Bit diffrent if someones blatently robbed your .psd file, with same hieghts, widths, pixel borders etc.

Personally, I find it humerous. People do it as an insult or a joke. Either way, it's still kind of flattering to know they'd rather have your artwork beneath their flaming instead of their artwork.

knockoffs are ok, ripping isnt imho.
i.e. you sell somebody the learning rights to a .psd and he steals your layers or effect renders.

paying homage to good sigs is ok imho (like the "evolution made me"... sigs ages ago), but straight ripping off of a very unique style without even saying thanks is a bit sad tbh.

I've stolen sigs and tbh I think its fine as long as due credit is left.
I stole nafri's sig.
I stole Tekka sig (stole this one directly with no modification, but I left credit under it. Unlike the person who then stole it off me).
I stole Kurren's sig.

when i make sigs i try to make them so that if its stolen its kind of obvious that it's stolen  and i put "sample" on them if the person hasn't paid
