Hi
Hope someone can help. When playing Eve my fan runs constantly which is annoying to say the least. Any ideas?
It's fine when running anything else

eve is very cpu hungry, one thing i could suggest if you know what you are doing is buy a high quality cpu cooling fan/heatsink and replace the one you have. But only do that if you know what you are doing. if not try cleaning the blades of it, cottonbud sticks are great for it imho :)

what Auldare said indeed.. don't change the heatsink if you don't know what you are doing.. get someone to change it for you (preferred is to let the shop that you buy the heatsink at change it)
Also alot of fans these days have a temp-sensor on then so they start working harder when the cpu heats up. as said eve is cpu-hungry to the max (literally as it's using 100% of my cpu at most times here) and that tends to heat things up alot which makes the fan work harder. dust that get collected on it or on the heatsink itself may cause extra noise, so have a look at that and clean it if needed. you could also try oiling you fans (something i do about ever 3 months myself) and that helps to keep thing run smooth and keep the noise just that bit down extra. but again only if you know what you are doing ofcourse :)
good luck with it! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you are on a laptop you can get a cooling pad that has several quiet fans to cool it down.
