Understandably, CCP has a bigger picture than the players have. Looking at the recent changes to jump fatigue I get a sense that releasing this "fix" now may have been potentially pitched as a good thing for the economics of the real CCP wallet.
Null alliances have more money in assets and liquid isk than most players can even fathom. To combat CCP's premature change to jump mechanics the alliances will mention either 1) training up travel alts, or 2) caching ships with combat ready characters in specific stating systems
It doesn't take that long to train up a "travel only" character on your account as long as you use the good ol' dual pilot training PLEX system.
This means a short term doubling of monthly subscription cost for some accounts.
The other option is caching ships in systems close to combat zones and running interceptor gangs to the staging system, for the players who only have one combat ready character.
Either way... it's money in the bank. If a player need 2 to 4 carriers staged around the EvE universe
talking 2 plex per ship (or you can use your earned isk which is equal to game time if used to buy plex). That's the value of 8 plex to fight the jump change.
Look at the bright side... CCP's in it to keep making money which means they want EvE to survive and hey..... interceptor gangs are fun.
All sarcasm aside; I'm sure there is more to come. Unfortunately, they are not willing to tell us what it is due to changes that may take place between now and then that may cause more tears than the jump stuff is.

Maybe you didn't quite get the gist of the message. This isn't directly related to the jump drive change, it's more related to business economics and content privacy.
Regardless of what type of change they make, CCP has a business to run.
P.S. I'll be sure to sign your loss mail and post it here...

Read the title of your thread, then re-read what you just wrote. Then read the title of your thread again, then re-read that post again. The read your OP, where jump changes are the provided context from the very first line.
If you are going to contradict yourself and backtrack when you get called out, at least try to do it with some style.
At least you'd make a great politician though. The good news is you'd survive a nuclear war - cockroaches can survive anything.

Do all the dual training you want, you still can't use more than one character per account at a time, and CCP still gets paid twice.

Or they thought it was a good way to get people out of their capital blobs and back to what ever it was we did before capitals, there is no great conspiracy, they really think this is a good idea.
On many aspects I agree with the concept. They are just being heavy handed and need to back off on logistics. The buy local rubbish is not in theme with EVE and the map doesn't support it. We need trade that covers the Universe. Besides, I've never heard of a Rorqual gank or Ark hotdrop. It isn't lie lore means anything anymore. |

Isn't there some rule against insults in forum posts? I know I made fun of one of the regular posters here and my posts got zapped. |

1) Extra Jump clones to bounce once a day to various caches of ships - capitals will be stashed up (if you can't jump far per trip, you can't get a replacement to an area quick -- you'll need spares and you'll need multiple depots holding ships - each with a JC at it).
2) Suicide at med clone areas along the path to clear fatigue. Lots of rep needed with lots of groups...
3) Multiple cap alts to swap in - the character bazaar is going to see some rising prices on older/cap capable pilots.
Just a few things to help deal with "the problem".
If there are ways to beat the system, I'm sure someone will find them. |

I don't take offense to Ramiel's comments. Looking at his forum post history, it's clear that instead of offering solutions to problems; He offers problems to those who offer solutions. It's a typical psychological problem of narcissists.
"I can't offer a legitimate or valuable opinion on an issue so I'll criticize those who can so I feel better about myself."
No sweat...
He's right though. This post would coincide with the Jump post, I just think that the reality of the "fix" is bigger than just this change.
CCP is a business who's #1 priority is to stay in business. That takes money. Some changes cost players money. This is one of them.
If I were in CCP's financial planning department I would want to:
have people log in more often have people log in for more time make it so it takes longer to do things so people have more time vested and have a bigger sense of "loss" when they don't log in encourage people to talk about how they can overcome changes we make to the game to get publicity up encourage debate and discussions among waring factions to instigate war (war, in EvE, costs real world money) change the changes that we make, per our customers request, so they have a sense of ownership when they play
