As a former TEST member, I felt a strong urge to either gank this miner myself (:effort:) or put a bounty on his head, no matter if what he claimed was true or not.
But then I started to wonder...what if the whole thing was made up..and Kayne Korablv was just an incorrigible bot aspirant who would continue to be an easy target- and the sole purpose of this story was to make the fine men and women at TEST mad at him and put bounties on him, so CODE would make additional profit every time they gank him in the future....
I sincerely hope that this is not the case, since after all, the New Halaima Code of ConductGäó is a spiritual tenet of love, faith and self-sacrifice. I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

Truly, if such an insult goes unpunished, TEST will lose a lot of face and prestige among the whole of New Eden.
They can ill afford that and still remain one of the movers and shakers of Null-Sec. Forum-unbanned since 2011.10.20.

Nerp, all (2) of my alts are down in catch as well (none of them miners, btw). You can see from my history I moved down to null like a week after starting eve (which was good, I would have never resubbed in Hisec). I've just read a ton of your posts (I suppose the same masochism that leads me to read these forums), and I keep contemplating to myself, what could be more carebear than mining and freighting for a living (I suppose you guys gank freighters as well, if not, many do)? ... well, ganking a freighter of course. If you believe otherwise, you've drunk a bit too much of the cool-aid.... |

I let you in on a secret. The mindset that nullsec is somehow special or "the endgame" of EVE is a typical one from people who have been poisoned by WOW type MMOs where there is some kind of progression and you have the noob area till the endgame areas. This is not the case in EVE. The different types of space have different rules and encourage different behavior non of that has anything to do with how old your character is and how good you are at the game.
If you think nullsec is the last word in EVE then you miss out on at least 3/4 of the game. I play this game for many years (this is not my only char) and have been to many places and played EVE in many different ways. At the moment I play it in Highsec as a ganker and it's the best fun I had in this game so far. the Code ALWAYS wins |

Apologies if it came off as though I think nulsec is the end all, be all. That, was not at all, my point. Honestly, in a lot of ways it's often pretty boring. I just meant for me personally (and I am fairly new, started in July), I didn't have much fun at all running missions, the mining tutorial, etc ... it's just that exploration, my main source of income, which is generally pretty f'in carebear by the way, doesn't make sense to do in hisec or lowsec. Personally, I think Lowsec prolly has the best fights and is the 'to-be' spot in eve right now, at least from what I've read...
...but, all that said, it seems like your crew posts a lot of anti-carebear type messages; and honestly, anyone with any sense can see it's a defensive mechanism - pure projection. There really is literally no more carebear an activity than attacking targets you know will not, and can not, fight back. At least the hisec miners and freighters are taking some risk....
And if you're having fun at it, by all means, carry on! That's the whole point of EVE. As much as the other carebears deny it, lets be honest, the inherent risk has to be a part of why we all play eve. It's literally the *only* MMO i could stand for more than a few days, because I *love* that there is real risk, real reward, and real loss. If you don't like risk, there are a ton of other choices that will be more up your alley. My only point is, you're only fooling yourself if you think you too aren't a carebear.... |

Oh you may call me a carebear all you want, I don't even care.
This is the old question of what taking a risk is, and there are those who think that undocking a ship you know you will lose anyway is taking no risk at all. But if that is true then it should count for a suicide run as well as for a nullsec roam where you go until you are sent back with the pod express.
We operate in Highsec with a -10 sec status. This means I can be attacked by everyone, They even get a warning message as soon as I undock my ship. They don't even have to shoot me, a scram or warp disruptor is all that's needed until the NPC's arrive and finish me off. If I on the other hand attack someone I get an immediate system wide warp scram applied, depending on the sec status of the system it will take 8-24s until my ship get's blown to pieces by CONCORD or anyone else who opens fire on me. That's how long I have time to kill my target, if I even managed to arrive at my target. Also my pod is not empty as it helps with the efficiency as a solo ganker.
The game mechanics of Highsec are all stacked in favor of the victim and against the aggressor. Nullsec on the other hand is a leveled playing field where only the player forces count. Compared to Highsec that's easymode.
And it really doesn't matter if the other ship has guns or not. In almost every situation in EVE you commit if you think you can destroy the target otherwise you usually don't. I don't care how much firepower the other ship has, I care how much tank it has. the Code ALWAYS wins |

Fair points! ...and I honestly appreciate the explanation as now at least I have a better understanding of what possible excitement one could get out of it (and you do sell it well!). I should also concede that my point of reference was more the 30-40 man gank squads that take out freighters (that'd I'd still argue is pretty risk averse), and large gang roams on hisec miners, and less so about solo pvp in hisec. But, it still seems to me that you're more playing PVE (albeit fast paced, high stakes, better than most CCP generated PVE and of course with the additional benefit of extracted tears) rather than PVP (i.e. can I destroy X before concord blaps me). |

Try flying about in a 1.0 system while being -10 with people actively hunting you, probing out your bounce spots, even camping in them for ages waiting for you, because for some reason they are mad at the thought of people shooting at others in a PvP game, and then tell me that shooting targets who can't shoot back is risk free!
Granted, a gank thrasher isn't much to lose, but there are those that will expend efforts to kill that gank thrasher, and it's still PvP at the end of the day |

The risk is failure. Our ship is guaranteed to explode the moment we engage the target. So failure means lost isk and time. Whether the targets kill us is irrelevant ask Concord is going to. |

I see see where you are coming from with the 30-40 man gank squads, but even in them there is a different kind of PvP that is exciting. Oddly I'll explain it with a much smaller engagement i had last week...
I had a Hulk, cov, and orca mining an anom with two white knights in system known to be flying cloaky ships, so I called in a friend 10 jumps out and decided we'd go for the Hulk. I knew we'd get the hulk before the WK's could stop us and we did. For me the game wasn't about the hulk at all but rather could we gank it without a pod loss. My friend ended up lossing his empty pod. Everything on paper says we won, but the pod loss, even empty on a 2mil SP toon means at best it was a draw. (it was effectively a 2v2 engagement over the hulk pilot's ship). It was a very exciting engagement for both sides.
That scales up with the 30 man gangs as just a few days ago we had all the WK's in Uedama trying to stop the ganks. We out numbered them 8:1 so we easily got all the ganks. One can only hope that one day there will be enough WK's with a decent strategy to try and seriously thwart our freighter ganks, it would go from a turkey shoot to a real war instantly.

Test v. CODE? What is this, the special olympics? As someone who killed the CEO of Test, and as someone who has relentlessly mocked the joke that is CODE, I can only stare in awe as two of the most incompetent and laughable organizations in Eve prepare to do war with each other. As seen from the alliance tournament, CODE can't be bothered to show up to anything that doesn't involve suicide ganking in highsec. As for test, I thought they ceased to exist a long time ago.
