Hello all,
I am sure most of you are aware that the demand for research slots for blueprints has increased significantly - and it is near impossible to find an available slot with less than 7 days wait pending in empire 0.5 or higher. In low sec - particularly in Lonetrek the wait is generally between 5 - 9 days.
I understand that a new patch is currently in development, which will greatly effect t2 / t3 production etc. I would hope that the shortfall in available research slots has also been addressed in this patch, with additional slots available to cope with future demand.
This is a great concern for my corporation which is new to the industrial game.
I would encourage any players who have similar concerns to reply to this post so that our views can be brought to the attention of CCP and taken into consideration when the next patch is released.
PS - i have tried unsuccessfully a number of times over the last few days to post this.... there seems to be an error.

It's already been addressed.
Caldari research outposts have been boosted, and so have mobile laboratories.

There are lab modules for POS-es, so if you do a lot of research it might be worth looking into.

More slots isn't the answer. I know, I just said that, crazy huh? If you want more slots, go with a POS. Faster research times, and no waiting. I can guarantee that if they added more slots, even 10 times as many, they too would have the same wait as now.
The problem is educating the player base. Having it pointed out to them that researching above 15-20 ( in most cases 10), is a complete waste of their time. It would also be nice if they would fix it so that if a job is canceled, the slot opens back up.

And then another problem would be trying to have all of the buyers of these BP's UNlearn a lifetime worth of believing that bigger is better. Specifically, in this case - if there are BPC's on escrow for the same price (or very close), and one has an ME of 50, while one has an ME of 20, which do you think is going to be the BPC that Joe Schmo is going to buy? And yes, I have seen BPC's on escrow for varying ME's at just about the same price.
If you're going to invest that much ISK in a BPO (for the higher-end ones), wouldn't you want to maximize your return, even if that meant spending more time to do so?
Maybe that's not always the case, but that's my opinion.

As it has been said... setup a pos and setup labs. Sure it costs more but then it has saved on me from pulling all my hair out from the wait on empire labs.
