I see players carelessly leaving these behind with all loot inside, because they know that very few hunters would actually waste their time to break their ridiculously high EHP and tank NPCs at the same time.
Making this happen will force players to make decision: use MTU and risk that any pilot can rob it, or use Noctis that can warp to safety - bt if it doesn't then risk losing a lot more. Current MTU offers too much and no drawbacks.
Also, this would solve abuse of MTU in ESS, Jita, fleet battles and other.
Accessing someone else's MTU in empire would generate kill rights. |

Accessing someone else's MTU in empire would generate kill rights. Ridiculously high EHP? We are talking about MTUs here right? The things that I pop with a battlecruiser in about a minute when I go hunting them? One sec, checking info on them.... yup, 50k hp. The packrat is 70k, but I've never run across one of those.
If you have that much issue with taking out a measly 50k hp, not even ehp cause the shield regen time is so bad as to be pointless, then you need to re-evaluate what your flying and how it's fit. Disclaimer: My opinion does not necessarily reflect that of my corp or alliance. My opinion is my own, and if you don't like, that is your problem. |

EvE is hard. It's harder if you're stupid.

Contrary to what you claim, there is no abuse of Mobile Tractor Units in ESS, fleet battles or other. It's just that In Jita, I believe they are a tiresome burden for certain grids on the server.
Therefore, making MTUs accessible for everyone would be a stupid and redundant change. Currently, if you risk engaging someone else's MTU and blowing it up, you have a chance at grabbing it's contents. This is working perfectly fine and as intended.
Your suggestion would only help create a situation in which someone other than the owner can access the contents of a MTU without risking anything at all. |
