There is no evidence if heavy rockets will replace or compliment the current launchers

There is every reason TO have them - diversity in launchers is alrleady low, they fill a useful role for cruiser class ships and so on. Removing them would be a nerf to Minmatar cruisers which they simply don't need - it'll force many to drop back to using the frigate standard launchers in their secondary highslots!

By all means, we can't have different number of we...oh, wait, we CAN. Turrets do. Removing the current assualt launcher would be a blow to the not-overpowered Minmatar cruisers. There is NO real reason not to have both.
And yes, because guns work one way...missiles need to work in the same generic way. Ugh.

Reggie, I haven't "commandeered" anything. Removing a launcher type is and remains a bad idea. If you don't want to comment on it, don't. And a thread can have multiple discussions in.
"Minmatar cruisers could just install heavy rocket launchers" They don't have the spare fitting after a standard setup :/ (They're nowhere close to even being able to fit heavies)

Thus making them generic with the turret tree, yes.
I don't see the point to this at all. There are advantages to both trees turrets(general lesser SP's needed for turret support skills, get both types at any size avaliable at once) and missiles (ability to specalise in a particular missile type more quickly) both.
Missiles are not turrets, and them working differently is not a bug.

Zing!
If it's written as a bug report, argued as a bug report and defended as a bug report...
I think your Zing-fu needs work.

But it isn't, so you're still wrong. Zang!
This forum is used for bug reporting on a regular basis. So...

I disagree - and a lok at the usage of Ravens by experienced characters in frex the Toutny bears out the fact that they are used and quite heavily... I see Caracals and Ravens in smaller combats all the time too.
"the accepted standard of EvE weapon systems"
There IS no standard. There are *2* trees. They work differently in most ways. This is not a problem.
"ending a statement with ellipses in order to convey contempt and condescension"
ASSUMPTION. Bad one. You're projexting your specific take onto this and it's NOT standard usage. If you want to discuss THAT.

Reggie Stoneloader, precision? ...no, they go for other BS if they have torps.
Grey Area, so with close range weapons you're saying you don't have other ships warp scrambling targets? Sorry, no, NOT very interested in 1v1's. And there's been varius people winning...including the Cerb which tanked 4 BS for a while before killing the tackler and leaving. (Yes, faction gear, but so did 2 of the BS...)

The stabber and rupture setups I used with arty. With AC's. you can manage it, but you're better off going with a heavier tank and dropping down to assualts again.
