Ok, Ive heard several rumors about perception implants.
1) They drop randomly (and rarely) instead of the normal implant for the agent's race.
2) They drop from Jove agents
3) They don't drop at all.
So I was wondering, has ANYONE gotten a Perception implant from ANY source other than the market / trades since the implant nerf?

Well, they seem to show up at the market for ~30 mil now and then, so the conclusion must be that they drop somewhere. But the details are a well kept secret.

I got one couple of weeks ago. Minmatar agent. If I had know they were worth 30,000,000 would have sold the thing.

Does anyone know the answer to this?
Has anyone gotten a perception implant from an agent and if so how recently?

There is only one person trying to sell them (or it) for 44m. And noone else is. I would bet that they don't drop any more. ______

Edited by: Khyle on 13/10/2003 09:30:26 They are on the market, but that does not mean that they are dropped. I checked 5 (high-sec) regions and the last time a perception implant actually changed owner in the market in all those regions was around the 28th of sebtember or so. If they were dropped in larger numbers than 1 every week in the whole game, there would have been at least a single sale, i guess.
My conclusion after working some time with my lvl3 jove agent and watching the market is: They are not meant ot drop atm. The reports of people who didnt get any perception implants even after hundreds of missions seem to support this. The possibility that the missions are generated (f.e. due to a bug) is always there, though.

They dont drop, the ones being sold are old ones. If they dont start dropping prices are just gonna go up.

Coming from TLBC this probably translates as "They drop, I'm selling them, I'm going to keep raising prices and not telling anyone where I get them."
So lets all keep looking.

I would have to agree with the assumption that the perception implant is not dropping at the moment. Any implants on the market now are old ones, prior to the factional changes. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there with equipped perception implants kicking themselves for not holding on to one.

I have a Perception Implant plugged in me right now , it was 1st implant I received and was from a Minmatar Mining Corp agent , same agent gave me 2 willpowers in a row about 5 missions later but I have received not a single Implant in last 39 missions So HMV consider Andy Williams and Dean Martin to be "easy listening" do they? Tell that to my mate Dave, he's been deaf for 20 years.

Right and that was after the patch but before the factional changes...I'm betting.

Perception implants are dropping actually. The faction which drops them is smaller than the other implant dropping factions, which is why so few people have gotten them.

Thanks for the official word. I don't blame the ones getting them for keeping it a secret. If I know who gives them out, I probably wouldn't disclose the info either.

Well if someone could now list all the faction, sorted on size, and we will soon enough find out witch faction they come from :)

Edited by: Shevar on 13/10/2003 19:59:29 My best guess is ammatar? Since its the only faction in emp space which i havent heard anyone claiming anything about. It isnt Jove, concord so that leaves little choice
And before pointing out pirate corps as possibilities the devs have stated that they dront drop implants, so you need to look at "good" corps atleast. -------- -The only real drug problem is scoring real good drugs

Ammatar, Khanid, Sisters of EVE
Those are my guesses, with perhaps 'Jove' thrown in for good measure since there have been some uncorroborated rumors of them dropping Perception implants occasionally.
An interesting thought is every Faction that gives out an implant also gives out a BP - so the people who know where Perception implants drop are probably also going to be the first to acquire the "last" new BP. Wonder what it will be.

Ammatar would make pleasantly twisted sense, as to get there in any reasonable time you would have to really hurt your Minmatar ratings. Which would you rather have, a miner II blueprint, or a perception implant? :)
Let us see if anyone rushes to join the empire now...

Don't speak too quickly until you find out what BP Ammatar offers. Could be another Tech II item, or even a ship or something.

That assumes that I would have answered miner II, and as it stands, I would rather have a perception implant. Not even to sell, but to use, as it is now by far my lowest characteristic. Then I would start selling them... :)
The point was more that if it is Ammatar who have perception, then either by accident or design the game is being re-polarised into the different races for most people. Which, actually, makes me quite happy as it should lead to some interesting interaction.

When I started doing Ammatar I was told by a few others that were also doing them, they drop same as Amarr...
As they are like Intaki to the Gallente, Ammatar is to the Amarr. If you look they are set up exactly as the Intaki with same size region and all.
Also Amarr and Ammatar have same enemies and allies.
