Hi all,
Long time reader, first time poster(I think).
Recently having moved back to empire from the depths of 0.0 it was kind of a shock, I remember empire with rose glasses; newbieÆs all wandering around asking how to do that level two missions and the elite(who were always so kind, lol) never helping anyone.
Anyway I have moved back to my home area of "The Forge" seeing as the agents are nice, the market is full and the women are caldari.
My point: WHAT HAPPEND TO JITA PEOPLE??? (And the surrounding systems)
Its a bloody mess, newbie ships scattered all over the place, People sitting afk at exits to stations and my personal hate CANS, CANS ARE EVERYWHERE!!!!
1) Empty Ships Kids kids kids it doesnÆt take that long to self destruct a ship (two minutes from memory); it takes you 1 hour to fly 30 jumps, yet you canÆt spare 2 minutes to keep the universe clean. Geez the worst part is you choose to do this at the exits to stations; it doesnÆt take a genius to fly to a planet and dump your ship. That brings me too...
2) Afk at Station Exits. This is like "IÆm too lazy to hit dock", Id put rats at stations just to fix this problem. Move your ship, if this was 0.0 you would be dead and everyone would laugh at you.
3) CANs. Am I alone in thinking that Can Ad's are about as effective as writing "lord of the universe" on the side of your ship. I wager that the only people that are attracted by can ad's are the wrong type of player in the first place. I mean, a player impressed by a Corp that has one member with anchoring 1 and 50k isk to throw around???? :SHOCKED AWE:
As for the people who think putting cans at belts is a great idea...
Ill let you in on a little secret Giant Secure Cans hold 3900 (One coveter cycle) and last forever but cannot be anchored within 5km of an object, while a jet can, can hold like 27000 and can be created ever 1-2 minutes for free anywhere and lasts for 1-2 hours with an added bonus of you getting to blast anyone if they touch it.
Oh yeah its Veldspar people, VELDSPAR....
IÆm calling on CCP, clear out empire itÆs a mess or at least let us blow up more stuff without concord going crazy. I lag just thinking about Jita. I canÆt wait to move back to 0.0.

Oh this is in a lot of places now and it drives me up a wall sometimes. There needs to be a way to deal with these with out having to drop a shuttle to do it. I know you used to be able to eject as you docked don't know if you still can. Even if you could you would need the skill for the ship in question. Maybe CCP can but a timer ships ejected from and after a week have them explode or something. Or make it so you can target and nuke them with out risk after a peroid of time.
But yeah finding shuttles and noob ships floating around stations is a bit annoying.
You like the Sig? Check them out here and see who made them. |

CCP does not care about space-litter.
This is only the umpteenth thread about it and nothing has ever been done.
I can only surmise that CCP actually likes space junk and wants more and more of it.

It is time to propose:
CLEAN UP JITA DAY.
Date: to be announced: Time: from DT on TBA date till following DT Place: Jita
What: Jita becomes 0.0 for the day.
Why: To clean it up of course, clean out all the noobs littering about, clean out all the lazy people and all their cans ect ect.
Anything else: all cans dropped before the announced day will be marked RED to all and a 1million isk bounty put on each one. Same with shuttles.
cmon CCP, think of the fun we'd have! |

If CCP want the "Most Memorable Moment in An MMO" Award then they should really make Jita 0.0 for the day. That would be so hillarious I'd probably cry my self to death laughing. ----------------------------------------- www.kellas.sig.justgotowned.com |

If you're completely afk outside a station for 15 mins it should dock you.
And they should blow up all secure cans which have not been accessed in a year.

Didnt I ask you to step away from the beer...
However, removing all the stupid cans nobody uses would be very good.

I agree the can problem is getting out of hand in jita, But why wait a year to pop them if they have not been acces a month would be a better solution as im sure no one is going to be away fromthe game for longer than that unless they are going to quit the game or are hospitalised for a long length of time, As for the ships with AFK peeps in them yep 15 min auto dock is a great idea as for the ones just littering the system say 1 day then it auto explodes after all who leaves ships in space really unless you found an upgrade you can fly !!!!!! I know the mods on yours are worth more than the ship so do what any sencible person would do BM the ship grab a shuttle pop it then dock to the find job done you get new ship for free your shuttle has poped itself and the system is clensed........

Disposing of the unused cans across the galaxy would certainly reduce Database useage thats for sure.

whats the problem, its all in your head, unused cans, ships floating dead in space, none of that is causeing the lag, remember it was drones, thats why drone bays were cut in half, and the max you can have is 5 drones, remember that was the big fix for lag.
ok to be serious now, I agree how many cans out there are locked down from corps that dont exist anymore? after 3 months of no use they should un-anchor and 7 days after that just decay to nothing.
ships, where to start, any ship within 50 km's of a station or gate that has no pilot should just poof at downtime, 7 days for hi-sec, 1 month for low, 6 months for 0.0 for all other locations
or here is an idea, get an alt to join your corp, have the alt eject from a shuttle, board a new ship, eject, board a new one, that claims the ship as your corp property so you can shoot it, and if your lucky you can get the base insurance pay out on it. its not alot but hey its something. let the young broke ones know, they will be fighting over the wrecks to self destruct them for some free easy isk.

I'm probably being a proper nub here, but surely making it impossible to add items to a jetcan would stop miners using them? It's impossible to add items to loot cans, why not the same with jet cans?

You could round up 100 Smartbomb Geddons and storm the system, would be much cheaper and more effective. Get em all in a corp called STREET SWEEPERS [SWEEP]

Do what I do - get a cheap frigate with a couple of lasers, board the abandoned ship, wait 30 seconds, then re-board your frigate, then shoot the abandoned ship (as it's now yours).
If you destroy a shuttle, you get 2000 ISK from insurance, so you're both cleaning up the galaxy AND earning money.
Now if there was only an easier way to get rid of cans other than shooting at them for 15 minutes with a battleship...

do you realise that if CCP read that and it happens you're going to have a lot of angry miners chasing you for thinking it up?

I had an idea to declared war on and destroy all secure cans associated with extinct corps / players in EvE but its not possible with the mechanics. Most of the people who have quit EvE with secure cans in space have been kicked to npc corps.
There are even some cans owned by people who are not even in a npc corp. They are apparently corpless and no longer exist. And if I try to kill their cans I get concorded. Retarded.

All anchored cans should have to be opened by the owner, or a member of the owners corp, at least weekly. Call it a maintenance visit if you will. If it isn't opened within that time frame the can looses its anchor and gravity pulls it into the closest celestial object.
Cans that are placed near stations and gates are destroyed by sentry guns when they loose their anchor in order to prevent potential collision damage to the facility and a rather large bill/littering fine is sent to the person/corp who left it there. . . . Regards, August |

Remove all cans in 0.8 and above anywhere in space (meaning belts, safespots, anywhere). Make sentry guns shoot anchored containers, which solves the problem of can signs and crap around stations and gates. (You really think station owners would let people put junk around their stations?) Put a 15 minute timer on all ships when you eject from them in all concord patrolled space. After the timer expires, concord shows up and pwns the ship.
If players can't blow the crap up, somebody should be able to. ----------
I say what I mean, but I don't always mean what I say. |
