Nah, he just provided a lower volume sound. If he actually told the OP how to USE that sound in EVE, that'd be naughty.

Weeell, maybe this is tempting fate, but I would hope that the mods have better things to do than throw warnings around for things that don't harm anyone in the slightest. It just brings the warp sound down to somewhere near the level of the rest of Eve's sound, instead of forcing you to turn the volume down so low that you can't hear anything else. Every single Corp/Alliance forum I have ever read has someone asking for this very thing, and it crops up fairly often on these forums too. It's a known issue for the playerbase, even if CCP don't think it is.

I like it loud too, but the best sound fix I've found for late-night loud gaming is the easiest one: headphones. It beats editing all the sound files for the game and is even more effective at protecting you from being bothered by pesky family!

how about earbuds/headphones ? just a thought
i use 'em because i like the immersion personally. especially since i used to play FPS games (need to hear where enemey is) or when i play horror games much more scary.
Speakers always seem to make things more detached, immersion wise, IMO.

I play with a head set. But when the warp sounds drown out Ventrilo AND winamp, it's too damned loud.
It's a common thing in my Corp for us to say, "Sorry, repeat that please. Was warping."
When this happens at LEAST once every 15 minutes, and it gets brought up on the forums as often as it does, it REALLY REALLY is time for the devs to take that modified sound file above, and incorporate it into the game.
Why is this so hard for the dev team to do?
