One way to stop all this dull whining about lost ships is to increase insurance duration to 3 mnths, that way more people will fight, there will be more action and we wont care if the ship explodes apart from the rare items we lose, and the whiners can then only blame themselves for no insurance and less people will leave the game.
4mill upwards for 3 weeks is very mean on a BS.

Not for you maybe but for most its 15 hrs mining which is the most dull experience ever

Quite Simply, if you cant afford 15m every 3 weeks, you should not be flying a battleship.

Quite simply I wasnt commenting on me as I can go and mine and make about 10 mill per day in a BS, what i was saying was if the game was a little more friendly towards ship loss we would have more battles less running and less whining :) and possibly less people leaving when they lose a BS

People used to go through 1-week insurance in their battleships, and you can't handle 3 weeks now that it's been increased?
PS-- Mining with a battleship is so lame :\ Reminds me of a quote on someone's sig: "Only the people of EVE would use something called a 'battleship' for mining asteroids". This is the reason pirates are able to kill so many rookies. All the players with battleships are out mining instead of joining together into 10-1 odds in their favor.

So true..even worse tho to fully insure my bs cost me 32mill.now since thats 3weecks i have to try and get the money to insure it again after that period.soo really its a huge circle and insureing your ship.BUT.....intill they make this 3months or more i simply
near 3 weeks..get ship blown up.revive my insurance back and buy a new bs and have money to insure it again.it works as i get back over 100 mill,but its a shame its not longer isnt it..

I will be playing the smallest violin for you, If you dont have the time or money to replace your battleship, then you have no reason to be in one. Plus its better to fight in cruisers, they are so disposable, and you wont loose much sleep over them.
3 weeks is fine, beats the 1 week period. If you keep whining over the insurance, what will be your next post. The big bad pirates are too tuff, tone them down?
Get a clue, get a life. If you cant hack it in Pvp, dont take the chance. Because you will loose your ship, and I dont want to hear you whine about it.

If you're only playing an hour a day you probably a) can't afford a BS b) don't need one.

And really, it's just a ship. There are plenty of people who enjoy the game just fine flying exclusively cruisers or frigates.
If you're playing the game exclusively to amass wealth, ships and items, fine - just realize that there are obstacles and they are not unique to you.

Dont mean to sound harsh..but tough, you need to play more than that to get the bigger rewards. 15m every 3 weeks is peanuts for a bship user if they know what they are doing.
Im unsure how you got a bship if you only play for 7 hours per week however.
All in all you dont need one, there is nothing a few frigs or cruisers cant do.

In responce to you Sara I dont use my BS to mine I do fight in it as mining so dull, it also gets incredibly dull watching you whining/ know it all pirates running at the first sight of a ship the same size as yours, from my experience only the best and most well known pirates tend to stay and fight.
Pirates tend to be the biggest whiners when they lose a ship not the so called carebears :)

i would be very annoyed if i went to insure my car , and the salesman quoted a ridiculous amout for 3 weeks.
in insureance should run same princible as a clone

Yeah insurance should last forever and be only 100isk. Because then i could blow my ship up and not care. And if you lose your battleship, then you should get 2 more instead, caus it shows you are fighting. Then we would all fight and it wouldnt matter, and eve would dramatically change and all would have battleships, oh wait this is happening already...

This is stupid...what would be the risk in fighting then? alot of the excitment about pvp is the risk of losing your ship...its a rush...if it didnt matter if you lost your ship it would be BORING.

Dont agree- 3 weeks is plenty- I just paid 10mill insurance and im not complaining - better than 1 week :D
You can make 5/10 mill per day farming so this is affordable.

Ahhh so if you need to mine lots of minerals for a BYOM deal or whatever, you should leave your BS in the hangar and mine in a cruiser or frigate even?

Actually, now that you brought it up, via hunting in your Battleship you could earn the ISK twice or 3x as fast to just buy the minerals.

This is a tagent, but what the game needs is a new class of ships that fit between the industrial and battleships. Bascially focused on guess what, "mining". The level 2 miner ship can fit 8 mining lasers and drones, but has no where near the durablity of a battleship. So for 0.0 mining on bistot, a guard is still required. The better mining lasers require a different kind of hardpoint that is only available on the mining ships.

if you look at it all you'll see that it says 12 weeks.

Top that off with the 40% minimum theres really no risk in loosing a ship. Man I could get rich, mining the way I used to...
I went thru 3 thoraxes a week. But made 50 mil that week alone... you do tha math... it was fun and made mining a lil more fun then the way it used to be...
Jus gotta learn the way rats show up... they used to lag the system and yyou could see it when minin, then jus warp out and come back at a later time...
I think they fixed this so its not so easy...

Is 60 per cent normally what everyone does? I haven't taken a ship out of a hanger in probably three months, I just log into train. I used to do 100 per cent on ships, but I don't want to pay too much if I start playing again.
