Ok I read through the Pos Guide and it stated that
Pos Refining array is a 35% refine 1hour batch time
and Intensive refining array is a 75% refine 3hour batch time
Now my question is do skills affect this. My character has Refining V Refining Efficency V and All Specific processing skills to 3-4 so for my specific situation wouldnt a Regular Refining array work fine and complete the batchs quicker. While using less tower resources.
Any help would be appreciated.

As I understand it now, that yield is a percentage of what you would recieve if you refined it at a 50% station. For example, if you normally get perfect yields at a 50% station, you will get either 35% or 75% of that in the POS arrays.
Also: This rule does /not/ apply for ice. Ice use the same yields as 50% stations, with no penalty.

A good analogy I read was think of the intensive refining array like a 50% station refinery with a 25% tax.
The refining at POS refineries is caped at a certain amount. No way to get around that.

That sounds right, because its not 75% of what you'd get at a station- the skill requirments to hit 75% aren't that high, but refining 2 is notenough, as I found to my chagrin. I lost aprox 17mil by refining a batch with the wrong char.
I don't know what skills are required to hit 75%, but refining 5, refining eff 5 and ore specificic skills to 3 do the trick nicely.

Anyone know the math on perfect skills. In other words what is the % loss with Refining V refining efficency V and Specific Processing V on the 35% array versus the 75% array

With those skills you'll get exactly 35% of the minerals at the 35% array.
With those skills you'll get exactly 40% more from the 75% array for a total of 75%.
The way to figure it is what ever you get from an empire refinery(not considering taxes) time the yeild of the array.
100% Empire x 75% array = 75% yeild
80% Empire x 75% array = 60% yeild
100% Empire x 35% array = 35% yeild
80% Empire x 35% array = 28% yeild

^^^QFT^^^ we learned this the hard way.
The regular refinery is handy when going for ice though, as it has normal yeilds, and is a lot quicker than the Intensive arrays. We use ours when we first set up a POS as an emergency ice fuel refinery, untill we get things fully operational out there.
