I've just been looking at the bonuses. As a proud minmatar I looked at the hel. Then I looked at the others. The bonuses break down like this (ignoring bonuses held in common) Amarr, 5% to armour resistances per level Caldari, 5% to shield resistances per level Gallente, 10% to deployed fighter damage per level Minmatar, 5% reduction in shield and armour transfer duration per level.
EH?
Is POS shield boosting going to be the new EVE? Is the Hel going to be the only ship that is NEVER built?
Or am I missing something that makes remote shield and armour boosting very important in the future?
Please let me know because if I start training now, I could be flying a Hel in Jan 07... :O -- We are the Octavian Vanguard www.octavianvanguard.net

Yup it has to change and probably will, im sure we have *****ed about this ship enough in the past but just in case tuxford sees this *waaaaaaaaaa* its crap change it and now whats your problem with training for it, you will need the skills for the nidhoggur which aint bad so i've been told so start training,
Plus if you've come this far in gimped minmatar why would you expect the mothership to be any different to all our other ships

it should be changed to a 7.5% shield boost effectiveness per level tbfh.
nuff said (the caldari will still boost more shield)
this is a shield tanking ship, aye?

Well, that'd be a wee bit overpowered on a capital ship I think... However I agree that the remote boosting bonus is utter ****e and needs to be replaced. Of all the proposed Matari Carrier/Mom bonuses I've seen, I like increased Jump Range or decreased fuel consumption the most.

Would just like to point out that the 10% Drone Bonus on the gallente one is suppose to be a typo.

No, a 7.5% booster bonus would not be ovepowered in the least. Why? Because the 5% resist bonus still gives a better tank than the 7.5% boost bonus. Theres a very well written thread explaining this that I can't seem to find atm. I agree, 7.5% boost bonus to matar carrier and mothership would be an excellent change and would be in keeping with the cyclone/maelstrom line of ships.

It's particularly true for smaller ships, as: a) they can passive tank with hitpoints easier than they can active tank; b) in some circumstances the 37.5% boost amount bonus is better than the 25% resistance bonus - namely, the tank is only lightly outdamaged (<50% more than the breakeven dps, assuming a few conditions like the lack of passive recharge and a few others) - which is something that tends to happen less and less with bigger ships).
In short, for a mothership, the 7.5% boost amount/level bonus could very well be better than the resist bonus, which could pretty much mean that... (I'll be handing cookies to the first finishing this sentence).
