i was just looking at the map and theres a certain arm of space on the fringe...pretty large area....that when i try to set a destination to it says unreachable. its a very large 0.0 area and im wondering is it just because im too far away, do i need certain skills, equiptment to get there or is it unfinished space we just cant go to? it wouldnt make sense it being there and we cant go to it but ive seen sillier things in MMO's

Make sure you don't have the autopilot set to prevent your travelling through low sec space. In the map, check your Auto Pilot -> Route Planning tab.

In the upper right on the map there is jove space / dev space which is inaccessable.
Or maybe you're just having an autopilot issue.

Most likely already answered, but yes if you have things set like do not go through recent pod killing systems can cause locations to be inaccessible. via the autopilot system.

There are three isolated clusters of space starting in the 'North East' sector, reaching down to the 'East'. The top-most two are Jovian territories and will not be open to pilots any time soon. The systems of Polaris and RU-97T are frequently used by the Devs to do live testing or demo the game in a controlled environment.
The third cluster, and the largest one, will actually be opening with the release of Kali 1, scheduled for release towards the end of next month. The facts known about this area is that there will be no pre-established stations there (so they will all have to be built), an already existing NPC faction will inhabit it (best guesses so far are rogue drones, but possible another faction from the EVE backstory), and that the area will be accessible from the "area beyond Pure Blind" to paraphrase the Devs (Pure Blind is in the North West, just after Lonetrek). That last point raises the issue of whether it will be only accessible from that area or if there will be multiple routes of entry from the rest of 0.0 space.
Either way, I curious what events in game will play out to introduce them.

Will they ever open any of the Jove empire? I want to go there.
I also want to see the awesome power they have! ------------------------------------- Sammael's Legion |

No, you don't.
Because they will be more than happy to show you their awesome power.
By vaporizing both your ship and your pod in one shot.
If read up on the Jovians, they greatly enjoy their privacy. It's the main reason they often make new technology readily available to the other races at predictable intervals. It keeps the 'lesser' races from snooping about in their space, although collapsing the stargates headed into their space seems to have done that well enough.
Regardless, my point is that the Jovians don't have a welcome mat.

I don't have the thread at the moment but look for a video called "Jovian Jazz" in the thread there's a little discussion about player encounters with Jovian ships so far, and the video will show you some of the Jovian ships that already exist in the client, though nobody can get them and fly them yet. It's rummored they will eventually be released for player use. I'm guessing as like t3 ships. As things currently stand a Jovian frigate can take out a BS in a 1on1 with no troubles at all.
Basically put unless the stats of Jovian ships change you don't want to mess with them.
Also I think the Jovian vessels are the best looking ships in the game even if they are funny shaped. RL "My front door is Gate Camped" |

Here's the Jovian Jazz video. Jovian Jazz
Yeah, the jovian ships have a godly visual impact although I have never gone looking for one. Maybe I should try that. Fuggin is tired of red blood and wants to taste the green sauce.

Ya know, now that I read this forum thread I am thinking that if all of these guys are telling the truth, it should be possible to take a jove down. What you would need is uber tank and lots of ships. I'm thinking that maybe if the devs would have another Jove event, maybe I could get RillaCorp, .NUBS, Mining Bytes and some others and we could go in a large force of bs and dreads and surely we can take one out. We would lose a ton of ships but it might be worth it. Surely 5 dreads and 20 bs's can take out a single jove frigate as long as jove bs's don't show up.
