LOL and my setup would eat you alove young man...
i used to be able to run most lvl4 missions in heavy beam II setup
and dual armour repper. with 80% plus resis on everything.

He is talking doing missions with it.
PvP is another story, young one.
PvP Gear:
6 Heavy Pulse II
1 Assault Launcher
AB or MWD
Cap Booster with 800 charges
Scrambler
2 x Med Rep II
2 x EANM0 II
1 x Thermal Membrane
2 x HS II (or: HS II + Damage Control

Beams would probably be more useful on a gunline member of a medium/large gang.

And my officer/deadspace fitted vindicator would own you any day of the week. Now i bid you a whole lot of stfu and undock up in fountain if you dare.
Back to topic.
Setups posted so far are good ones. But i would always use a cap injector on. 6 Pulses uses up alot of energy and so does dual reps. Other then that, tank for the dmg types that the rats are doing. And i guess it's mostly Gurista/Serp so fill up that thermal hole and you should be just fine in any of the above setups.
