Edited by: Splagada on 16/08/2006 14:45:02 how many of you have also experienced the same?
i read that bookmarks were doing a big load on server, but what i dont understand then is why we dont have, like the journal, an intermediate button "load bookmarks".
with 4500 bookmarks the screen just freezes for 10s to up to 1 minute, depending on i have no clue why
this simple step would have saved me a battleship (well my fault eh !)
but also would have saved the database work to display about all empire bookmarks
i should use folders but with a hd crash those are gone :p
So why not just put a single button there? how many times a day i accidently click there? how many times, i forget to close the window on "buddies" tab, and when i look for someone it's the same problem, all is loading
i'm sure bookmarks loading would be less an issue (as stated by a dev) if we could at least remove all the "accidental loading". i dont know about the statistics here, but i guess maybe 15 to 30% of "places" tab display are an accident -

I like the button idea. Who knows the difficult of adding a seemingly easy feature like that into an already hard-coded interface, however. Especially when they are looking at alternatives for BM's anyway.
But technicalities and policies aside, a good idea.

hmmm, I've run into this before as well, but you have to remember, the People and Places menu IS the load bookmarks button.
Of course I don't have 4500BMs either (only about 400 here), and Folders keep those organized, which SEEMS to help reduce lag, not sure if it does or not, as I only have again 400. Try sticking em all in a Folder if you don't have em in one and see if that helps

Saves time if you wanne use people and places but not for the bookmarks but just to look up people, try before closing clicking on a other tab such as corp members. This way when you open people and places next time it wont load that long... --------

ccp mus simply delete all bms in the grid of objects and add a warp to 0m option.
nothin worse then copying huge bm sets, ccp should do try it themselves.. - Purple Conquered The World, We the Universe.

So you want them to delete bookmarks people have made of sniping/scouting locations near gates and stations, bookmarks of spawns, of secure cans, and any other object? ----- Connecting pilots with corporations |

Edited by: Splagada on 16/08/2006 15:38:51 the goal of the post is mostly the "load" button. how many databases hit are simply accidents like this(in addition to be very annoying for the player)
edit : oh yes a 0km warp, and let autopilot only do the 15km stuff, great ideas -

I think it'd be more helpful to have a "warp to 0 km" option and let the users delete their own bms. --Xenius |

excellent idea, same concept as the journal in the wallet.
I end up not deleting a bunch of BMs that I don't need/use because it takes so long to do so.

Open it and minimise it. If you hit the button again, it's no issue, it pops up from minimised immediately --
