Civil Justice> Whats the ETA on fixing the member hangers and being able to drop things into it. this is a real problem, so much that we'd even request a mini patch to fix it.
TomB> This got broken in last patch?
Civil Justice> o man yes
Civil Justice> even to the extent
Civil Justice> when u put stuff in the hangers they poof and GM's "cant do anything"
Civil Justice> i'm losing stuff left and right
TomB> Wasn't aware of this...
Latta> 2 patches ago TomB
Civil Justice> if ya count the last mini patch as a patch ya it occurred 2 ago
Civil Justice> u cant see what members have in hangers and u cant drop into them
TomB> Serious bug

I don't necessarily think the Bug Hunters are fully to blame. They are volunteers and as such are taking their time to do QA work so that everyone else can enjoy playing.
The problem is the process and lack of manpower. You may be able to convince a small handful of volunteers to do end-to-end testing but for the most part, people are going to test just the new stuff and just the pieces of the game that they are particularly interested in. When a problem such as this presents itself you find that either there is a breakdown in the feedback or the particular bug is in an area that the testing group wouldn't normally make use of while testing.
Again, no single person or group to blame, it is a broken support process and unfortunately, it probably doesn't get solved without a financial investment by CCP. "Salvation Awaits" - The Preacher |

It would be nice if someone, anyone at CCP played this game so that very obvious bugs like this one don't get the, "Huh? What?" response during the worthless developer chats.

Spot on.
Makes me glad I haven't submitted a bug report because it would have been a waste of time anyway.

actually isnt Tomb one of many devs ? Why should he be aware of everything thats being done at ccp, there probably is another dev working on it as we speak, then again maybe not. But can u actually tell me that corp hangars are within his field ?
OMG Something is wrong, and Tomb didnt know about it !!!! Why have the Gods forsaken us !!Surely this is the end of the world

I think the part that gets me most is the fact that he has to be told twice, several times I might add. Why not jot this down on your to-do list when someone is bringing a bug to your attention? It almost seems like you are ignoring them.

Errr.... because he chairs the CSM meetings (I assume that's where these quotes keep coming from). If the guy hosting these meetings doesn't keep up to date with what's going on in the game, there's no point even holding them. Even if all he can say is "yes, the devs are aware of this, but I have no ETA for a fix yet", there's still no excuse for just not knowing about something that's been in place for weeks. Hell, he could just flick through the thread titles in the patch review board and get most of it.

TomB works his ass off as is - cant expect him to either know everything or remember everything.
If he says hes going to do something it invariably gets done.
That's rare enough to be special on its own.

TomB is not to blame, the people that are responsible for processing bug reports and making sure TomB has the information he requires to do his god damn job are deserving a good whipping the say the least.

eve IS frustrating! Its frustrating cause its full of bugs, its frustrating cause the customer support defies any scale of ****ty or crappy i ever heard of. Its so frustrating i have to quit for a week orso every 3 weeks or i simply cancel my account (or burn or crush cd or whatever)
Ive seen alot of people quit EVE in a wave of anger. This is a good hint that something is seriously lacking....eventhough people do infact love this game...its not enough though. Some people will quit eventhough they like a game. Diferent things are more or less important to diferent people.
If being treated just and fair by the people you are a customer of is your nr1 priority you will hate EVE. Gm's dont do didly but say 'sorry sorrysorry sorry blahblah sorry bleh sorry sorry'. Now CCP starts this 'oh? really? uh? what? how? where? when? why?'. Jeez gimmy a break will ya
So yeah...EVE is a good game...but that isnt the whole story. I say if, this game is to survive beyond 1 year of onlinetime, CCP better make damn sure that 'EVE is a good game' IS in fact the WHOLE story!
Oh yeah and live up to all the damn promises BEFORE you go bankrupt please! Atleast make whats on the box true before you take the servers offline
oh and rantrantrant blahblahblah rant rant blehblehblah rant rant...
Whatever..you get the idea
Originally by: cashman It's time for Eris to get a clue. CCP should make a statement about this.
It's the exact same things as what Zombie did, you may not attack in "safe-areas" (empire/within sentry range) without loosing your ship.

Fair point. It might not actually be his fault that he's clueless, but he shouldn't be. *Someone* is doing a poor job somewhere.

Problem is Rath (in this case) if a CCP staff member joined a corp and anyone found out there would be all sorts of accusations about favouritism.
Funcom didn't allow their employees to join a guild in AO and I'm sure that will be the case here.
I'm sure the last thing a Dev would want to do after a long stint fixing / developing stuff on Eve is go home and relax by playing the game.
It does sound like there needs to be a review of communications at CCP though. It doesn't help community confidence when Devs haven't heard about long-standing problems.

So how about a few BH/GM/Devs go on traq and create thier own corp using alts then they can test everything that is said. They could keep any Paying player interation to a minimum....
Tests like... pretend this BH is a n00b. See if he can steal BP's. Or can the CEO be voted out without everyone quitting the corp? Do ALL the features that they SAY are working actually doing so.
I think it would only take a couple of days of playing to find most of the bugs (But obvoisly not all!!). It's ok to test on chaos but unless you at least TRY to act as a player corp does then all the BH in the world cannot find the REALLY annoying bugs.
