How come we don't increase teh ... "minimum wage" in EVE ?
It'll make life in EVE a little better as well as making it a little easier on the newbs to grow into EVE ?
An increase that's not too much ... but just that little bit better maybe ?

Buy insurance, in fact don't fly ships without it.

i havent bought insurance for a long time ;) i don't plan on losing ships and i rarely do.
(Corp insurance on corp provided ships is a different story)
Learning how to survive in eve ftw.
If a new character trains afap for a battleship then loses it they will learn very fast :) |

there's really not much point, it would only push prices up due to increased demand and defeat the object

Quoted for truth. It would have a small effect right away, but things would just balance out anyway and the new players would be no better off. I think it's perfect the way it is. Makes you feel like you're earning something.

Huh? Who are you working for? Why dont ask your boss for a raise? We dont work for him/her, so we cant help you with getting your pay raised. Stand up for yourself, prove that your productivity is worth a pay raise.

Well, we have worked for our fortunes and so the newer players should to. If this did happen, it would probably have the adverse affect, and just make things more expensive.

Buy GTC's, sell for ISK.
Honestly, this is now protected by CCP, how much lower can the "minimum wage" get?

Making money in EVE - From the MC website
IMO the entire point of EVE is that working smarter pays.
Looking at my spreadsheet, I can see where I laid out 1.5 mil for 45 units of one item on the market, and re-sold them for a *net* profit of 15 million in one week. I've got zero market/trading skills trained.
If newbies actually did the 8 part starting mission, they should be starting with 500k to 1mil isk.
With that kind of seed money and the potential of 100% to 1000% profits avaiable to people with zero hookups or connections, I utterly fail to see how the minimum wage needs to be increased.

How about inflation is already starting to pinch my wallet, and I don't need more?

Woops Double post
Its a third party program u can use to log game time.
And you and you alone are responsable for how much u earn. if u dont like ure "wage" leave the corp or ask for more.
Ive never had a wage in eve, nor do i want one, i do corp ops for free and expect to have the time to make my own isk in turn.
And i like it that way

1500 hours recorded by my Xfire... But I didn't have Xfire the first month and a half I played EVE, so I'm probably real close to 2000. :-C --------

Edited by: Stamm on 18/08/2006 12:26:46 Prices are based on limited resources, and reflect economic supply and demand. There's some items that are sold in infinate quantities by NPCs, but not many.
If you make it twice as easy to get ISK then the prices for everything will near double.
Edit : Also it's very easy for new players to get the money they need. They don't need faction gear or best named, they can't use T2 and they can't use battleship sized modules. The stuff they can use is cheap.
If anything it should be harder for newer players, not easier. The harder a game is the more rewarding it is when you achieve something. But then again Eve shouldn't (and isn't) grind...
