I really want to get into PvP but right now im only in a Kestrel doing lvl 1 combat missions and sweeping .5 astroid fields. Im looking for a corp that has alot of PvP but also some mining and research/construction as well. Should i wait untill I can get a better ship? Also what kind of ship do u get after frigates?(for combat)

after frigates you should go to cruisers (bypass the destroyer, it's like a specialised frigate and not a big enough jump up without having the right support skills to make it worthwhile)
as for the corp, it's not always about what you can offer them so much as what you can all offer each other - you need very few skills to be even marginally useful to a pvp corp (just being able to stasis webify or warp disrupt could turn a battle) and if you can find one to join then you'll get on-the-job training from people that (hopefully) know what they're doing, and in return they get another pilot for their blob
the most fun you can have in EVE (IMO) is with other people, so if you're looking for company i would urge you to get into a Corp as soon as you can find a suitable match :)
good luck

Except for uber-PvP, elitist, invite only PvP corps that have massive requirements for application, the soonest you should apply for a PvP corp is... ... right now. Seriously.
Theres no real limit on how much or little you can do or know. Every gun counts and even low skilled frigate pilots can strap on an AB or MWD, a warp scram, and help a group effort. Sooner or later you'll lose the ship. Inevitable. But its only a frig and easily replaced. Move up ship types as you can afford to in skills and logistics / finances.
Also, don't worry about how little you know. You'll learn as you do ops with your new found corp, trial and error, and expierience. Theres no faster way to learn PvP then to do it. Every kill, yours or theirs, is a lesson.
And if you dont mix well with said corp, wether its expierience, personal, you just dont mix, whatever, theres a thousand more that can use and will teach you.

Join a player corp just as soon as you feel like it. Most corps that accept noobs will also teach you about the ins and outs of the game.
Many 0.0 corps will also accept you. True you won't be able to rat without going pop but some corps I've seen need tacklers to pin nasty battleships. Noobs can do this with only a couple weeks of skilling. RL "My front door is Gate Camped" |

My honest answer is that you should join a pvp corp the second you can use a frigate and a scrambler

Try checking out the Recruitment forum, many many corps post adverts there, trying to get people to join, so it doesn't do any harm to check it out. Or you could just make a post yourself saying you are looking to join a corp, and wait till you get some replies. As long as you state what you want, you are sure to find corps that do what you want

If you're looking to learn the ropes check out the two links below. There is a "PvP University" of sorts. You can pay (ISK) to take the class, or if you join a PvP corp ask them to sponsor you. I'll just point ya there instead of hi-jacking the thread with info.
EVE-O Thread
PvP University
Or EVE-Mail me any questions, as I know the second link can be kinda confusing. ^_^

What he said. AU specialise in Frig and Dessy PvP and the classes are great fun! I went on the class after playing EVE for 3 weeks and only just into a Merlin! .

Even new pilots are usefull in PvP. Get a good frigate, and fit your medium slots with a afterburner/microwarpdrive (whichever you can use) a warp scrambler, and the best stasis webifier you can afford. High slots a couple of small Nosferatu, and something that does a little dammage just for fun. This type or setup is called a "tackler", and there are never enough of them around. In team pvp your job is to charge the enemy, orbit just out of smartbomb range, and stick the bugger in place with your warp scrambler and web. The bigger ships then bang away with the heavy weapons, and in theory dead enemy. If your going to stay Caldari i would suggest a Merlin with two rockets and two small NOS in the high slot. If your not adverse to training another ship line, rifters (Minmatar Frigate) make fantastic tacklers.
BTW, you will get killed a fair amount doing this, but frigates are cheap and its a lot of fun. As was said earlier, except for the intive only 'lete dud3s, a "have rifter will tackle" in the recruitment channele will probably get you a corp invite.

If you want to join a good corp, you should wait until you're 15 days old, that way they know you're not on a trial and will be more likely to welcome you as a long-term member. Also, if they know not to accept trial players they're probably more organized than ones who do, who are generally just looking at boosting their numbers without much regard for whom they accept or what they offer new members.
This is just a statistical thing: there is no guarantee one will be better than the other though.
