Ununderstandable? 
That kind of RP happens alot in EvE, so best get used to it :) I don't find anything in there hard to follow at all, its infact a good place to keep ontop of ingame polotics and happenings. If you're one of these people who see something wrong with RP, yeah stay away. If you like a little flavor to your game, gret involved, its fun sometimes :)

Just assume everyone in there is out to avenge their mother/farther/both and you'll be set. Or is it just me who noticed that every RP bio is like 'Zomg my parents got killed!'?

Naaa, RPers do tend to go to extreams. I give credit to UK/CVA for their Roleplaying they have back and forth. Read through some of the Chronicles and that should clear up some of where they get their ideas.

I generally tend to keep my whole family alive. Provides an easy excuse to explain extended away times ("Yeah...had to help my brother...umm....paint his hangar?")

Yeah, I noticed an influx of this when we got all he SWG refugees. Not sure why, maybe it's a Star Wars thing.
Funny thing is somebody pulled me up on this with some of my writing but my parents are actually dead IRL so it felt natural to me. It also fits with my back story (which will not be published but rathers leaked bit by bit in many places).
A detail a lot of people miss is that Telemicus has a wife and kids as do I. Something I threw into my writings to add a bit of depth and some narrative. Like someone else said it's also handy to have if I need an RP explanation as to why I'm on RL holiday.
RP is fun, better than taking the game seriously. Have a look at the backstory section up on the top left of your screen. A bit of RP can only add to the fun. Whats better, watching Mark Hamill wave a pole around in front of a green sheet or Luke Skywalker in a light sabre duel on the bridge of the Death Star?

Nope, Nik's parents are both alive and well, in fact he sees them on a fairly regular basis because they live on Matigu, which is in the same system as his corporate HQ. Hell, he even has a grandfather wandering around Minmatar and Amarr space that he hears from now and then.
But I would like to know what Ocwi found so confusing.

The sad thing is, alot of Caldari don't have parents to avenge.

Probably saw the Verisum Family threads where they kept claiming victory. TBH I don't understand those threads either.
On a more serious note, some threads/posts in the IGS do make my head hurt.
