Due to NPCs' artificial stupidity they won't be implemented any time soon. The issue is that NPC:s just fly towards you after aggroing and shoot with all guns 'til someone dies. Level four kill missions were originally supposed to be so hard that you'd need a bunch of friends to do them but the issue with them was that with full aggro NPC:s usually one-volleyed even the biggest and baddest tankers out there and as we know, there's this "full aggro if drones are out" bug...end result was that lvl4:s were nerfed and lvl5:s were put on hold. ------- I'm not an alt. |

It's not a bug, alt. LVL4s need to be moved to lowsec - that would balance things.

I seriously hope that if they do get implemented, they will be so hard that you need groups of at least 8-10 people to do them. And that they'll only be available in .4's and below.

I never cease to be amazed at the pointless stupidity of whining about worth while agents in 0.5+.
I've played this game for years, live mostly in deep 0.0, and I still cannot see any "VALID" reason to worry about level 4 agents in 0.5+, nor level 5 agents in the future.
As for invalid reasons, if someone wants to run missions and not face PvP, so what? (No, there is no such thing as risk vs reward, never has been, never will be. There IS something called a "Balance of Risk, Work and Reward"...).
Just ignore the 0.5+ mission runners, PROBLEM SOLVED.

Regardless of how disturbed you are over folks running missions, a split server is a bad idea. One of Eve's core strengths is the level of control a player has over his own game. Anything that forces players along certain paths is at least partly bad in a very bad way.
That a hardcore "non-combatant" that is a MAIN character and a hardcore fighter that is a MAIN character can exist in the same game and work together is a very very good thing.
Depth ftw.

Your opinions and those like them are exactly the reasons why i shun pvp in the game now and stick with agents.
Hail the lv5's (not that i think they will ever happen.. ouver and crew seem to be on a one way thinking track into forcing me to play the game with the likes of yourself)
That will never happen ofcourse

I do not understand why people keep saying this.
It's assinine and ignorant to think such things.
CCP has and will continue to try and balance the game between the two major play styles.
In 0.0 you can : Rat mine Complex (if you are lucky) Fight POS ping pong.
In empire, you can do all of the above plus: Missions Trading (npc routes) Anti-Pirate T2 production (you gonna put a billion isk investment in open space where anyone can come along and blow the **** out of it?) Sales
WCS, Local, Sentry guns and concord are all there so your little mission ship is safer from PVPers than it would be otherwise, and yet you still complain that CCP is "forcing you to play with" pirates. Yes, sorry about that, but you did afterall join a MULTIPLAYER game. I know the concept is hard at first, but the multi in multiplayer generally means other people besides yourself. And not all of them think you should be able to run PVE missions endlessly in peace and quiet.

Edited by: Epsilon 1 on 17/08/2006 22:41:41 Why farm isk, why farm 5 run faction battleship bpc from agents, why ***** 0.0 spawns? -- To enchance your PVP/EVE (that's right) experience, take it to a NEW level -- to have a break from constant ganking, but to return and kick even MORE arse than ever before. Tell me your answer, but if you play multiplayer games (EVE is like no other MMOG) only to kill npcs you are either: a 1) Ebayer; or 2) Have problems communicating with other players and understanding the OTHER part of EVE.
Playing since 2004, done it ALL, except for: flying a carrier/dreadnaught Now that should be my goal in EVE by logic...and probably is

I'm enjoying my lvl4s for now thank you very much. BUT they are too EASY, no risk at all, except for lag - connection lost - ctd - unexpected server reboots

The 'very' old multiplayer game arguement again, sorry i don't buy it.
Never have, it's a load of rubbish.
And it's not forcing me to play with pirates i have a problem with, it's forcing me to play with people i see as juvenile delinquents.
Been there seen it all to form that opinion ( i can't give you those instances on the forum as i would likely be banned for repeating them) I lived in 0.0 for a year achiving the goals of my corps and alliances in all forms of pvp, region defence and logistics, i saw and did it all first hand... so no need to patronise.
The solution for peace of mind for me is to avoid the lot now... given the responces iv'e had to those instances.
As for concord, nahhh.
I live in a 0.2 10 jumps deep into low sec full of kids that daily try and gank me, i hammer the scanner every 3 secs when im running missions, i see their ships close to my mission spawns all the time.
Hardly safe haven, i live in a system where im out done about 10-1 against.
But yeah whatever, you're that guy that belives it's my problem if i have a problem with people calling me a retard:/
Given that i couldn't realy give a dam what you say to me tbh:/

Your full of it. Level 4 combat missions were always easy until they made almost all of the dead space. Before it was jump in at range kill as many as you can then warp to the other side, jump in again and kill. Shake and repeat till they were all dead.
There were out cries that people were making ISK so to make it harder CCP moved most the combat missions into dead space to nerf MWDs and anyone that was not a short range tanker.
Then they found that torps before the missile nerf made doing level 4 combat missions a joke. Missiles still do, but now you have to train up the skills.
CCP said that level 5 missions were going to be huge multipart along the lines of covoy protection or raiding with other players getting the mission to raid or protect. The hold up back then was there was no way to share a mission so only one person got the ISK, LP, and standing.
Now I dont know if it is true but when factions happen in Kali, we should get our level 5 missions. svetlana - "whining gets you stuff. that is why humans got to the top of the food chain and all the other animals got nerfed."
