would love feedback from the vets here which of those 2 ships would you recommend for the following situations ? (or neither)
1. Level 3 missions 2. Level 4 missions 3. PvP 4. sneaking around past blockades(i got a helios for that but would like to know which,if either,of these ships can do so?)
p.s. the ISHTAR has "hard-coded drone control units" if i have the skill DRONES 5 how many drones can i use on the ISHTAR if i don't install any drone control modules ?

Well the generall consesus is the ishtar does pretty much everything better then the diemos.
And you can only control 5 drones at a time with the ishtar regardless of skills -------- Kill em all and let god sort em out

5 Drones.
You can't put Drone Control units on the Ishtar, those units use 7500tf CPU and are only really usable on Carriers.
I think you're thinking of the Guardian Vexor when it comes to a hard-wired drone control bonus.
...on the other hand using a banana might be a viable alternative.

the ISHTAR!!1 outperforms the deimos atm in virtually any task, the only downside is that it doesnt quite look as macho as the deimos.

Looking at the description of the Ishtar, it says nothing about a hard wired drone control unit, but if it has one I'd guess at 6 drones (as the bonuses are to drone range, drone bay cap, medium hybrids and drone damage) With level 5 though, your 5 droens would be as powerfull as 7 and a half drones.
As for the missions, I believe both are capable of lvl 3 and 4 (a corp mate uses his Enyo for lvl 3s with no trouble).
For PVP it really depends on what role you want to take. A Deimos can be a very scary gank ship, while the Ishtur can tank like a mofo, (nos on the highs, think mini Dominix), and if you saw the alliance tournament, you saw how powerfull in a support role an Ishtar is. I don't know about Sneaking around a gate camp, but if I knew I had to run a gate camp, I'd take a Deimos personally because of the MWD bonus, and the ability to kill any tacklers quickly if necessary, without losing your primary weapons system when you break through (unfortunateley most drones don't warp with you :()
N.B. These are my opinions, and could well be wrong. Please be nice, I accept constructive criticism a lot better than insults :)
Hope this helps.

the eve community, always there to help, ty guys keep it coming
ok,this is what it says in items database about the ISHTAR
"the Ishtar is more than able to hold its own by virtue of its tremendous capacity for drones and its unique hard-coded drone-control subroutines."
so what benefit is the hard-coded drone-control sub routines ?

Gallente Cruiser Skill Bonus: 10% bonus to drone hitpoints and damage per skill level and Heavy Assault Ship Skill Bonus: +5 km bonus to Scout and Heavy Drone operation range
I'd wager.

Yep, pretty much agree with what's being said here... The Ishtar is better than the Deimos... I love my Ishtar and despite having a real desire to get into a Deimos again I just can't justify it...
The Ishtar's advantages are:
- Ishtar is faster
- Ishtar has a better tank
- Ishtar is less succeptable to jamming (drones still hurt when ship is jammed)
- Ishtar has mid-slots available for overpowered ECM
- Ishtar can carry lots of drones that hurt different sizes of target (i.e. Lights, Mediums and Heavies)
The Deimos advantages are:
- Blasters do give out a reasonable damage
- It's stripey
That's about the sum of it...

tis made me laugh ;]
I like my Deimos. I know the Ishtar is probably better (but not faster if you count in the Deimos MWD bonus) But I find the concept of using drones as primary weapon boring (and you have to get the lil buggers inside your dronebay before you warp, which can be troublesome at times) and besides - the Deimos looks cool and matcho, as has been mentioned before... I mean - the ship is a big flying ***** ;p
Blasters kick ass btw

What MWD bonus are guys talking about?!
MWD -> Mandatory on Deimos MWD -> -25% cap MWD + Deimos -> -6.25% cap
Yeah great bonus, while the other HAC's enjoy real bonus', the deimos doesnt even get its mandatory penalty removed completely.
Ishtar all the way TBH, though I heard ppl make good use of the deimos as a PVE ship.
