To all who wish to purchase GTC, a "guide":
There are many people out there who are interested and are wishing to purchase time codes. As a reputable seller I have decided to present to you a little guide, in order to give people an idea as to what they need to do in order to purchase a GTC successfully and minimize their chances of being scammed.
So, here are few simple rules to follow:
1) Always buy from an established seller with a good feedback. 2) If you must buy from someone who is an exclamation mark and is a new character, or just establishing themselves as sellers, make sure that you actually talk to him or her for a minute; ask them where they bought the code. If he canÆt answer or give you a name of the company where the GTC was bought in less than 30 seconds, be wary. 3)Always have them EVE-Mail the time codes to you. Also, when you depositing ISK into the sellers account, donÆt forget to use the ænotesÆ section and specify that the ISK is for a GTC, good idea if you include æthread IDÆ in it as well, to make it easier for GMs if it is a scam. 4) It is advisable that the person speaks modicum of English, if they donÆt, then you are unable to communicate with them in the event of something going wrong. Unless, of course, they speak the same language as you, then it is all OK.
5) Take Screen Shots of all transaction details and conversations, despite the convo. Logs, screenshot are the best proof, especially if they are high quality ones. 6) Always leave feedback for the seller, that way you promote those who are good, and punish those who are bad.
If you get scammed:
1) File petition under æExploitÆ heading. This way your petition will get most attention. Also it will minimise the time the 'bad guy' has to go out there buy some Morphite with your ISK, jettison it by the moon and have another ALT pick it up. That way CCP has hard time tracing ISK and Items.
2) Include all relevant data with the petition: Screenshots, Convo Logs, Thread ID, etc. 3) Always post in their thread, if it was advertised on the forums, that way they are precluded from scamming others.
ThatÆs pretty much it. If anyone wishes to add something, be my guest.
Have Fun Playing EVE!
