i just had to formate my Hard Drivr, and then i reinstalled Eve, but now when i try start eve it like frezes at the first screen, the blue 1 that is b4 the login screen, i have tried uninstalling and reinstaling, nothin, i am runing xp with of course directx 9.0, any 1 know what i can do ?

same for me , im not sure if the graphics card is freezin up , if anyone has ideas pls let me know , oh, im running it on a lappy

Same problem that ShadowMaster is having happened to me when first trying the game. The only difference was that I had purchased a NEW Toshiba Laptop. It's my believe that the problem had something to do with connection speed because I managed to solve the problem by restarting my computer or dialing over again.

something similar was happening to me in June. It was a white screen at startup. It would be an honest shame if u guys didnt start playing this game cuz of some stupid windows deal, so heres what i suggest.
Call CPP tech support, it works. thats what i did they had me playing in 10 minutes. They will tell u on the phone, which drivers to download for what problem, step by step.
In my case, I had to go to some driver site and download some stuff. good luck gentlemen

well the problem seems to be laptops, because i just got a new toshiba laptop, anyway thanks

make sure you have download latest video drivers software. like catylist or nvida. or what yours takes.
My alt hates me, I don't know why. he won't even talk to me anymore |

does it say something about "handshake"......the servers are going up and down.....everyone cant log in.

Try deleting your cache, ive have this problem numerous time and deleting the cache has worked every time.

actually it could be the audio too. there is a sticky thread here in Known Issues & Workarounds - a better place to find questions to answers like these anyway... if you have a problem odds are someone else there is having the same... : )

I think you may be experiencing something I first noted two weeks back. Sometimes, after clicking 'connect' the progress information jumps straight to "Establishing pre-authentication handshake with server" and hangs there, timing out after about two minutes.
If you are certain you have a valid connection to the Internet and that the relevant ports are not blocked, just restart the eve client and try again. It has taken me up to 20 consecutive restarts of the eve client to connect.
I still experience this problem. I emailed as much information as I could to support@eve the first time I encountered it, but was able to log in before I received a human response. I replied and asked for the job to be closed, but that they might investigate the cause. GM[Q] replied that he was glad I was able to log in and that he would close the job.
To date I have only had to clear my cache once and I am running of my original install of eve. IÆm pretty sure this isnÆt an ISP issue as I use a lan connection on a university network and I can access other internet services simultaneous to this problem.
If other people are experiencing this problem, I expect itÆs an issue with the eve servers not responding to the handshake.
