Edited by: Jim McGregor on 19/08/2006 16:03:30 This is the part I found most interesting:
"Factional warfare is a dynamic system of directed content in which the NPC empires will offer up missions of various types that solo or casual players can accept or reject at their leisure. One empire may offer contracts to defend a particular supply world from a fleet of pirates, while another may offer an opposite contract to break the defensive cordon of NPC ships, leading to players on both sides struggling to push an NPC agenda. The difference between this and standard MMO questing is that factional warfare will be completely dynamic, progressive and responsive to the players. There will be a parallel system of ranks, badges and medals available that will serve as bragging rights. More importantly, shifting political fortunes will affect player corporations as lines on the maps move from side to side -- but player corporations will also be key to shifting those lines in order to get access to rare items and resources only available from that NPC faction."
It looks like it will give some meaning to the missions in empire, and it has the potential to be fun i think. Im just worried about one thing... the talk about rewards etc. CCP better not introduce a WoW ladder system to make people grind points. That would take most of the fun out of it for people with lifes.
Edit: It doesnt look like mission runners will be fighting eachother at the same time though...I was hoping for that. --- Eve Wiki | Eve Tribune | Eve Pirate |

I see they did not mention the bugs that are older than most Eve players.
They also did not mention the daily server crash.

Please, Sir. May we have another server crash to go along with all the wonderful NEW CONTENT? May we have more LAG? More BUGS? Pretty please with sugar on top? |
