Homeworld had one of the best game soundtracks ever.
Earth and Beyond had the best MMO soundtrack ever. I sometimes use it in place of EVE's music: a lot of it is surprisingly fitting.

Abuse. --------- In the blindness, a streak fiery thread violently cuts the horizon. Bleeding golden mists, engulfing the blindness from within. Burning the darkness. The touch of dawn. |

Yes most definetly the Total Annihilation Soundtrack. I loved how it would play the soft melodic tracks until the fighting began then the over the top overtures began.

I have a bunch of old NES tunes laying on a harddrive which I listen to sometimes, favourites there would be the original Zelda, Pro Am Racing and the music from the second Castlevania game.

Best game soundtrack without any shadow of a doubt, totally wtfbbqpwnz0rz any other game music, was Dr. Willy's level music on Megaman 2 on the NES. ***

Firstly any Super Mario 64 fans simply have to listen to this (click on 'download mix' on the right hand side) its a remix of the alternate route music. Be careful on that website, easy to waste a couple of hours there
As for music in games some of my favs are the first level of Nemesis (arcade), Pilotwings on the snes also had some funky stuff going on there quite catchy, also pretty much any tune from Double Dragon (arcade). The comodore64 had some titles on it with awesome music too, I remember a game called Sanxion having great music. -----------------------------

Nah give credit where its due, FFX had some nice music in it. If it weren't for Yunas horrible voice acting and the Tidus's whiny whiny nature it would have been perfect. "What?? I barely tapped him. Old people go down easy."Caroline Dhavernas |

for the super nintendo. Theres been fan remixes of the soundtrack for this game, including some stonkers involving lots of awesome guitar playing. You can find it at OC-remix or on any *ahem* sharing programs. Look for Kick My Axe and Lake of Fire -----

Tetris (NES or Gameboy version) is a classic for VG music.

i liked the music in halflife 2, it always seened right for the mess you was in.
i like mainly rock and classical music, stuff from the lord of the rings films is something i like, so i'm quite fond of the music in FF7, FF8 and FFX

1- Hell March 2 from C&C Red Alert 2 - insted of going with the modd, this music SET the mood, once you start hearing the music, it's time to attack.
2- Hell March from C&C Red Alert - same thing.
3- Homeworld music - most of it, specially the one in big events.
