I have a few favorite pirate spawn locations in Empire space, 0.5-0.6 sec systems. The problem is that there seem to be a group of people going around and stealing the loot. As im in a bs and dont have the speed as a frigate, they usually get the loot first.
I dont care about the ore thiefs as I can use secure containers, but for npc hunting I have no counter measure against them. Going in a 0.4 systems and lower wont change anything as I dont care for the sec hit I whould get for shooting at them. I know about the 'Salvage laws' but I dont think they cover this one. So far I have just waited on shooting the pirates and let them take care of the thiefs but unfortunally that doesnt work all that well.
Any ideas on how to solve this. And what ppl think about these acts?

Guess again, they do.Just because you shot at some NPC, doesn't mean the loot belongs to you-it belongs to whomever is first to pick it up. . flotsam and jetsam, law of salvage.. etc etc.

If you're in a 0.4 you dont have to shoot them just bring a stasis webifier and stop them in their tracks while you pickup the loot  |

Why are you using a battleship to hunt in noob space? Do you go duck hunting with surface to air missles?

I hope ccp will implement something along these lines: A 15 minute criminal tag should apply here too as it would with ore cans, and the loot can ownership should be given to the person/gang that killed the NPC pirate. This criminal tag should not be valid for Concord/Empire kills though.
Wouldn't that be nice Znaei?

You wouldn't take a sec hit from popping them in non-empire 0.0. You'll also get better loot and higher bounties. If you are in a battleship and you hunt NPCs for a living I would think you could handle it.
Otherwise, if you go somewhere a bit lower, the rats will be stronger, and if you leave a couple around, they'll smash frigates equipped for hopping around and stealing your loot.

Hehe no, there are actually pretty good spawn locations in Empire Space 20k-40k rats

I know, but you didn't say that.
Personally, if someone comes to steal MY loot when I'm hunting in empire space, I just let the rats kill them, then I loot THIER can!

Equip short range weapos and fight the pirates are close range.
That way you'll be close enough to open the can when it drops.

I can recommend 800mm Repeating Artilleries for close-range NPC fighting.
They are utterly useless in all other aspects but at about 3km range they are simply devestating.

After they take the loot, try to lure them out to 0.4 buy offering alot of money for it. Then target, jam, scramble, blow up ship, pod, take loot, rinse repeat. 
I know where those spots you are talking about are, they suck. Go kill the real pirates in 0.0 You have a BS for crist sake.
Have a Nice Day The most common cure for frustration is buying things, it makes you feel better, really it does.

Solve this? Declare war to their corps and kill them all or be faster than they are at picking loot.
