Since the trade goods have no rhyme or reason right now, I would suggest this:
There are plenty of alliance and corp wars going on right now. I would suggest bumping up NPC demand for certain items in conflict areas. For example, antibiotics, tobacco and small arms could be needed in Curse and Stain. Also, when player corps will be able to own space, this idea could be expanded.
What do you guys think?

Personally I think that when player owned stations come into the game, lots of food, oxygen, water, robotics, etc should be needed to maintain the NPC crew that keeps the station running (docking crew, cargo crew, medical staff, etc) otherwise, worker strikes, limited station functionality, etc.
In addition, player corps should be able to produce some of these trade goods.

Yes - more trade goods should be implemented generally and their demand topped up all over th place. NPC peeps on stations need more than oxygen and water to live.... mining is so easy in comparison to trading...it should be the case that small, but easy money in bulk should be made from trading or moving one thing, produced in one location to another which uses it for less - hence things like robotics, water, oxygen and so on... easy to implement and would bring in realism!

I love the idea!
would be nice to see player made stations require items to thrive/survive...could set it up like a bill every so many days your station requires x ammount of product to continue to run at optimized effiency. Say you dont get x product in station then your services start to suffer because of it.
