Give me some classic RPGS that i can emulate on meh laptop :). RPGS all suck major ass ***** now a days, so list your favorites!
ps. I love pixel games :) SNES and forward!

Shouldnt need emulating as they're all windows based, but they are classics, and damn good.

System shock 2 is too darn scary 
Deus Ex is pretty funky, though the sequel was shocking

Don't know if Diablo really counts as an RPG, but 1 and 2 are still some of the best games ever.

My favourite Rpg type thing would still have to be playing a lotr module on neverwinter nights multiplayer. Its pretty good when theres no elves in the party, prancing all around, lamenting about everything. Oooh look at me im a fairy with my wings chopped off. Bloody elves.

Valahalla is on ei can remember, was with the vikings and on of its stats choices was what used to be on gamesmaster or summat hwere u had to throw axes at the maidens plaits of hair. never completed it but have heard rumors of summat called vulcan portal which i sbased on this

Ichabod had some great suggestions. Also add the other Infinity Engine games (Baldurs Gate I, II + Expansion, Icewind Dale I + II), Divine Divinity and/or Morrowind and all great PC RPG titles. Action RPGs on the PC like Deus Ex and Tron 2.0 are fantastic fun as well. For emulating purposes, the only RPG I remember from my consoles from the old days are the Square Enix ones before they went down the cinematic pink hair route, Secret of Mana/Evermore were great, and the older Final Fantasy titles. Haven't played the newer ones but they very big games so might be worth checking out.

That's an adventure game, perhaps the best one of all time.
Unfortunately adventure games appear to no longer exist. The last notable one I remember is Grim Fandango.

Add also: Dungeon Master series.
(do not mix Ultima with Ultima online, nor Dungeon Master with Dungeon Keeper :-)

Final fantasy tactics (tactical RPG but a damn good one)
As no one seemed to mention the genesis platform :
Phantasy star II III IV
Shining force I II (ancestor of all tactical RPGs I think)
Xenosaga is nowhere near Xenogears.
And yes console RPG can be seen as a genre of its own, the RP part is poor, but provided you get an excellent scenario and a creative gameplay you get hell of addictive games.
