I don't mind being in a queue so long as I actually AM in a queue. I get that message on Sisi, but I can't ever log in - it says "please wait, you're in a queue" and then I have to shut down the client and open it again to attempt another login, by which time, I'm back at the bottom of the queue
If the same happens on Tranquillity, I will not be impressed. (I also won't be able to play at all, of course...) ________________________________________________

I think (read: really hope) that this is a temp measure taken to prevent a server crash due to all people trying to log in at once. We know we do try that.
Seems logikal.

It seems thats inacurate.
I was number 11 in the queue just before, and I did have to wait.

Sure you can, and CCP won't mind. How long did you wait in the queue? 10 secs? 20 secs? Just pay your bill 10-20secs later than you usually do.

And they'll allow him to play 20 sec more after his subscribtion runs out?

Nah, but they will let him play an extra half an hour, when downtime gets finished early. And that's free.

Has nothing to do with it.
OP poster has a point and you will be giving a **** about this if you've been playing since castor and have seen what this game turned into.

Hmm, I guess I need to get a good sword so I can get to lvl 60 faster?
Seriously, pretty sneaky putting that in, though it will make the game run better. Though I do worry that weekends will have really long queues of people trying to get in (Sadly, like Wow). --------------------------------------------- Make Doomsday weapons available for frigates! |

I was #8 in the queue earlier but I was still able to connect right away without any delay.
I think the queue is/was only used on Sisi to keep it from crashing from to many connections.

Nop. The server has a populate cap more than enough to handle peeps
I welcome the system tbh, since I see it more or less as needed, cause after a DT or a crash you see 10-20k people trying to login at the same time, fubaring the server once again. _____________________________

some people need to get laid i think, if ccp introduced this feature it is because it was needed, *hint* the devs have lots to do and dont waste thier time adding things just for the heck sakes of it. A login queue will make login traps harder, make logging out/in lots of times to save a pod/ship harder and will stop the servers getting raped when thousands of people try to login at the same time.
In my opinion, that'd be worth waiting a bit some times. However there should be a timeout on people's logins so that someone taking 15 mins to login because of their ****ty connection should be disconnected (and banned from EVE ).

The login queue is to prevent server lag and slowness while 20k people log in, the servers can handle more people online than the max logged on (28k i believe). And no those 28k wont fit all in jita at the same time.
The queue will be used to make the loggin in after unscheduled downtimes and on weekends go smoother, it does not mean people will have to wait untill someone else logs off the server to be able to login.
You can't compare the WoW queue to the Eve Queue as in eve the goal is to have all players on one server, and not share load over diffrent servers.
So .. relax n stuff mmkay ? ;-)

As said by a few others already in here, I also think it is just to relieve the stress of the loginservers.

Nah, that just makes up for all the times downtime goes overtime.

playing on isdn without any bigger problems except for the mentioned loading time for the first log in after downtime or eve-reboot. only takes a bit longer when i jump through stargates, still wonder why.
when it comes to laggy fleetbattles it is realy not worse than with dsl when i compare my experience with what i heard on ts while being in the same battle, sometimes i even load quicker than the average dsl guy.
but, and here comes the big but, this is not only up to your connection but also and mainly due to your settings. if you jump into a crowded system with a huge gatecamp for example it simply kills you when the local is open and not minimized, your buddylist overloaded (made that mistake in azn while the g ascn campaign was running, put a lot of ascn member inside the buddy list and there crashes and relogs lagged me, still ingame ^^, completely out), the overview open while still laoding the enemy fleet and maybe even an open people & places folder on the bookmark tab with hundreds of bm¦s needed to be recalculated (jumps) and in worst case thousands of them if you haven¦t put them into seperate folders.
you can avoid most of the emergency warps by simply stopping your ship after jumping, i rarely have any. scroll out as far as you can to avoid loading textures. i hardly ever get disconnected while fights so the log-in queue will not bother me and i support the points stated by ikvar, even as a "crappy" connection user.
btw eve is heaven for isdn compared to wow or daoc when it gets to zerg situations. and i am one of the few which survived the kamikaze jump-in to the massive gatecamp from bob & friends in ec-pr ;o)

You know... a good amount of the userbase pretty much makes me vomit. You complain about sever lag all the time then when CCP puts in a system to help alleviate log in lag you ***** and moan like little babies.
leave if you don't like it, but I bet you can't quit your eve because its like digital ******e.
