Hi I've just activated the 10 come back option from CCP. I've been out of the game for a while and wanted to get a flavour of what has changed etc.
What are the good and bad points about the game, is null sec still static and ruled by major power blocks.
Have the ships got better or worst, Which ships are good to fly etc..
Let me know I look forward to the feed back. |

If you haven't already, give the Dev Blogs a read. Work back from when you last participated in the community.
The development release cycle has changed from twice annually to once every 6 weeks. Things are churning out faster than previously.

All ships are good in their own way, cfc-sec is on the verge of some hefty changes that may or may not see power shifts. I personally think 10 days isn't enough time to judge whether or not to play a game. You need time to get to know people in EVE and find a decent group to play with to make it enjoyable.
Don't spend those 10 days mining in 1.0.

The answer is a solid No. Between the constant dumbing down and making a whole class of ships useless with artificial timers, you're better off buying another game or playing a F2P like Dota. |

Ignore the poster above me, he is in a cfc failures corp called "the Bastion" which a where the failed unwanted cfc pilots/corps go to avoid infecting the other cfc alliances while still fighting under the cfc banner.
I came back after two years off and I like the changes, I don't get why people in null are worried sick about the game being more accessible to those that are new and in highsec (new players are the biggest importer of plex).
CCP listened to you and we got null stagnation, gankers, 90% quit rates for new accounts in 6 months, and the player count STILL going down.
Overall the game is much better and I'm even more addicted (which is good and bad)... |

Hi
I can share my experience with you as someone who came back to eve recently.
I am having an absolute blast. So many things have been clean up and made easier in some cases swap easier for playable without a maths degree. In particular industry and exploration are now much more user friendly and also there is much much less of a skill wall to overcome before you can participate. There are also loads of quality of life changes for the better.
On the negative side my drake and my rifter are pretty useless these days
. Eve isnt perfect but its miles better than when i was here previously.

If you're asking about null sec being static or ruled by major powers and if it's worth coming back, seems to me you know what the game offers. I have no clue about null sec and alliances and could care less. I guess that's why I add things to my queue and log off.
I am going to try those new missions but I'm sure Ill have a 10+ day queue time to attempt them. I do appreciate the 10 day's CCP has allowed me to use

You should have come back 2 weeks from now. However, changes are afoot. If you stick around past your 10 days you'll get to see everything shake out. |

Probably not this year, but I'll likely return for next year's "special offer." For me, it's a bit too early to tell whether changes are good, bad or indifferent. It certainly looks like alts are still highly mandatory (clone costs mean the main stays parked), and at 860 mil isk/plex I can't see funding an alt army.
Still, gotta say "thanks" for the look-see around.
