Dude, do what you want, FW pays you LP for every war target killed, Pirate you just get kills but no LP pay out, you mostly get isk for the drops/loot, NOT everyone in FW are autistic, maybe a few suffer the "special snow flake syndrome". Every Corp/alliance has there pluses and Minuses, other than being super board in HI-sec there's not much content, Low sec, you can undock and be in a fight. Pick your poison. Nothing Ventured, nothing Gained.

The corp you join will make a big difference in your game enjoyment.
When looking at a PvP corp, make sure their killboard looks good to you. See that they are getting kills when you play. Note how many kills per day, and how frequently they fight.
You do not need to be great in skills before you try to PvP, but you are going to die a lot due to being new and also low fitting skills. This doesnGÇÖt mean you canGÇÖt learn some things, but the going will be tough. But if you work on tackle skills many gangs will fund your ships if you tackle for them.
Once you can fly a good fit with good skills you are over one important hill. As you go on you will skill into additional good fits.
Along the way you may become good at creating your own good fittings. And then you will continue to get even better.
Another important hill is learning how to earn isk in volumes that support your shopping habits. Your tastes will get more expensive, but you will also learn how to get a lot of fun out of cheap setups as you get better.
There are a variety of ways to go about getting started. To be fair though I think right out the door you need to make some isk.
When I got started I created a 2nd account to make money with while not interrupting the PvP skilling on my main. Years later I still think that was a good idea.
If you have the spending money you can consider buying plex and then purchasing a skilled character. Just beware flying expensive ships while just learning PvP. You will burn through a lot of isk pretty quick that way.
Once you have this much behind you, there will be several options before you.

For AU Tz my corp is best.
For EU try Inglorious-Basterds [I.BS.]
For US tz - you have many options.
This list is the top 8 CalMil Alliances from zkill for the last week.
Enemy Spotted. OLD MAN GANG Templis CALSF Heiian Conglomerate Caldari State Capturing The Bloc Caldari Armed Forces. Dei-Telum Church of Awesome will treat you well. Enjoyed my short time in corp (alt). Join FW, join corp public channels and chat with members, and most of all get on coms and fly with people. You'll quickly find out who you can stand and who you can't. As far as sec status and standing goes, you can always repair that stuff with isk or carebearing if you decide to leave FW. |

One way to look at it: if you're in the worst militia, then you got the best enemies, right? If we're so bad (which we are), then who in their right mind would actually want to fight us? Besides, T1 ain't so bad, the prices of navy stuff goes through the roof when no one has any actual LP; in T3 and T4 everyone is so ballin that they crash the market...
Just holla at us (Templis)... One of us... One of us... One of us!

If in fact you have an alt in Templis, get involved with us and get to know us. We aren't the big piles of ***** that some would make us out to be.

One thing to understand is fw is setup for you to join as soon as you're done with the tutorial missions. You do not need a lot of skill points to be a helping hand in a fleet. I would highly recommend flying cheap t1 fit frigs. Very little skill to fit them. You will lose a lot but while doing so you're gaining experience and skill points for a better fitting. Always think of your ship as ammo. It's gonna pop and you're just gonna hop in a new one to do it all over again. Fw is a blast if you fly with the right people. Loot whatever you can when in a fleet to pay for new ships. Each frig should only cost a couple mil. As you get better and train your skills higher you can fly better ships.
Also get with a corp that's willing to help you get better. Advice on what to train and when to train it. How to fit ships. Most corps will have doctrines that take the guessing work out of it for you. Hope this helps. |

I almost forgot. What I've found very helpful was to record my fights. Fraps is a good program. When you're done you can go back and watch. Find out what you did right or wrong. |

I joined FW when I was extremely low SP and can honestly say it is what you make of it.
If you run around the warzone humping buttons and running the second anything shows up on D-Scan then 1.) You're going to be bored to tears and frustrated because you're not making any cash-o-la 2.) You won't gain any skill
Fit the ship you are able to given your current skill, fight what comes your way, learn from the engagements, be fearless.
You're either going to love PvP and look forward to your next fight (this is a sign you should continue to FW) or you're going to find you're avoiding encounters as much as you can (you should not continue to FW).
I think I had about 40-50 losses before I got my first FW kill, and it was WORTH it because I've never had a more intense, satisfying gaming experience.
My other recommendation is that you try to join a FW corp. General militia is fine, and full of lively people, but until you're exposed to the greater conflict via an active FW corp, it's pretty lonely and a bit pointless (aside from the cash).
I was lucky enough to be accepted into JUSTK very early in my FW career. I think I'm still below their SP minimum, but they made a huge exception and brought in me (which I think they're still regretting ). I don't mind being the very worst of the very best because I know when I'm flying with them, whatever we're doing matters (edit: ... in Eve), and we're there because the objective needs to be accomplished. |

I bought 20 lml condors when I first started out. And just went out and plexed and fought anybody who showed up. I made morenisk than the condors were worth and I learned a lot about all the different ships and weapon types in the game because of that. Went onto rocket kestrls after that an got my first solo kill. |
