Hi I was wondering whether to put a dual rep on or an extra hardener as part of the tank. Your thoughts please.

Fit another damage mod. Rep bonus on gallente cs is crap. You won't live long enough to use 2 cycles of rep against anything bigger than t1 cruiser. Only chance to survive is to kill it first... --------------------- Looking for frentix? Mail me. |

And I plan to. 635 rep / cycle PER REP is too much to pass on ---------------------------

I hope you're joking. If not, you're a moron. Any command ship can tank a BS in its sleep assuming its not getting nossed by a nos domi.
Fit the dual reps, a single rep just isn't enough and won't use nearly as much cap as you have. Of course you need to fit a cap booster as well.
CFW (Certified Forum Warrior) I kill people ingame too. |

ok but then you want to fit blasters in high with a MWD , what about the powergrid for the guns, your DPS will be crap...it all depend if you choose to tank or gank that's all. 7 neutrons Tech II with damage mod and you have a killing machine and that's not possible with the dual rep..

5 Heavy Electron / 2 Heavy Ion + cap injector + dual MAR + MFS is pretty easy to fit on a Brutix. With the Astarte's higher base fitting I daresay 7 Heavy Ions will fit. (in fact, I'm pretty sure the Blasterho video had exactly that setup)
Neutrons are for pure gank setups, which generally don't have the time to deal a lot of damage if they're made primary. And if I saw a gank Astarte you can be certain I'd make it primary, because their DPS is plain scary.

Edited by: Yitro on 24/08/2006 22:00:29 With maxed out fitting skills, you can easily fit 5 ions II, 2 Neutrons II with two med reps, 2 MFS II, and MWD II and capinjector.
And damage output is insane.

I have a running spreadsheet which I use with my Eos . . . while not the same ship I think the tanks are similar. What I have found is that it all depends on the damage you are tanking. Keep in mind that this was all tested on L4 PvE . . . I'm sure PvP would be different due to the effects of Nos:
If you are tanking only 2 types of damage and can tweak your resistances high against it, then 1 rep is fine.
When I'm going up against anything that does all 4 damage types, I find that a dual rep comes out on top.
Hope that helps Cob (\_/) (O.o) (> <) This is Ebil Bunny. Copy Ebil Bunny into your signature to help him on his way to world domination. |
