I've seen on history channel at least 3 devices that revolutionize energy market but none are in the market. Why? Oil.
It's like you telling your dad he's wrong and him answering he's not. Who's going to win?

WELL, i mean if you saw it on the history channel, then yea i mean, can;t dispute that right?
actually, no, that's not what it's like. it's more like the economy saing one is cheaper than the other.we've got billions upon billions of machines, both industrial and personal, that already run on fossil fuels, and an established industry and market for oil with tried and true technologies for them. THAT'S why it's still oil. Yea, rome wasn't built in a day, and neither is a world wide change in energy sources.

The Steorn website is fake IMO. Look at it, it looks like what someone would make if they were told to make a fake website, but make it look like a REAL website, if you get what Im saying. Im getting the feeling that it's either A: A scam B: An ARG(Alternate Reality Game) C: Some kind of viral marketing ploy. The whole site makes me think of ilovebees.
Anyway, I find it hard to believe that the most reliable law in physics can be broken by a simple arrangement of magnets.
Please STOP comparing EvE to WoW, they are polar opposites, and are made for completely diffrent audiences. Seriously. |

Right. A million scientists over three hundred years have been investigating every possible scientific phenomenon, and if any of them had discovered anything remotely approaching this, they'd have been multi-billionaires overnight. Yet they never did.
Some company that nobody ever heard of can develop it from out of nowhere. Ya, that sounds plausible. ________________________________________________

Guess if it's true we'll hear about it sooner or later.
If it's fake all's well in the world.
If it's true it raises some interesting questions about peoples assumptions about how the universe works.

Now either.
a) These guys are legitimately attempting this work and there is a plausible explanation as to where this energy is coming from, It has just been 'over looked'.
b)Its a big hoax, just for the giggles.
c)Its a big hoax, but with a purpose. Anyone remember www.Ilovebees.com ?!?!?
d)These guys have managed against all common sense to break one of the most fundemetal laws of Physics.
D) is the least likely by a long shot. I think i'd like to see C) as being correct.
A search on google will throw many news sources at you. As well as there official site. Draw what conclusions you will.

Edited by: Lluthiunne Atalaron on 25/08/2006 14:55:14 Publicity stunt
There have been many people on the Internet speculating that this is all some kind of marketing publicity stunt, partly because Steorn has not followed the conventional way of releasing such technology for peer review.
A page on Steorn's website titled "Press Coverage" had a non-working link to a news story claiming the discovery in the Guardian on April 1, 2006. The date "April 1" is commonly observed as "April Fool's Day" in many countries, including Ireland and Great Britain, and is often a target date for hoaxes. No such news story from the Guardian exists.
The press coverage page was edited shortly thereafter but the earlier version was still available to see on their website for a number of days afterwards but was finally removed by Steorn on the 25th of August 2006.
It was also believed by some that this was a publicity stunt for the release of Halo 3. This was due to the story appearing on an Xbox news site the day of the announcement Link and people taking the graphics and company's name on the site to relate to the Halo 3 Classic Linkage . Steorn's CEO has explicitly denied a link to Halo 3. Linky--oooodle Steorn has also denied that this has anything to do with a TV program or anti-fraud systems.Linky...izzle
Steorn has also stated that they will not "pursue or accept" any investment until their discovery is verified by the scientific community: "we will under no circumstances attempt to commercialize the technology in anyway until the 'Jury' have delivered their verdict.".Linky
