Im in Gehi, and even after leaving it for 15 mins, it still doesn't get me in.
Does this mean I am stuck? Anyone any quick tips on how to get in again?

Wait for the server status and then you will get some kind of error that it was unable to comunicate on that port. Looks like someone changed the firewall settings at ccp.

It's a strange one. 1 of my accounts logs in fine, but the other one gets stuck on the "handshake" stage.

I show tranquility online with 3691 users but I get stuck "logging in" with the bar half way up "Performing Pre-Authentication Handshake".
Quit shaking my hand and open the door!!!!!

The \flushdns worked for me. Thank-you to whoever posted that.
Still no idea why it worked for one account and not the other???

Edited by: Tentimes on 13/10/2003 18:37:23 Nope - flush DNS didn't work. I think it's port blocking by CCP ISP again. This problem came up last week too.
I'm now stuck on the pre-authentication handshake too :(

Sorry for that question but im not familiar with ipconfig/flushdns
Windows caches DNS replies - the above command flushes the cache and forces Windows to send a new dns request. It doesn't make any difference anyway. Edit - I don't allow XP to cache dns so I know this isn't the cause of it
Just keep trying and trying - you get in eventually. Looks to me like someone has seriously b0rked a router config. Again
Nearly six months in now and CCP's left hand still has no idea what the right hand is doing.....

I've never even seen the pre-authentication handshake stage before.
What is this ? And if previous poster saying this happende before is right, why does it stil happen ?

To be honest i dont know what it does but i did it 5 or 6 times before it let me log into eve so just keep trying.

After several unsuccessful tries (sometimes make it as far as 'preforming pre-authentication handshake', but often can't even fund the server) I suddenly logged in fine.
Of course, now I'm worried about doing anything, if the server is whacked and I'm gonna get kicked again as soon as i'm in a bad spot. Obviously something has been in the toilet. what, is everything okay now?
Some hint of communication from the devs would be nice.
