Right.. how does cap work.
For example.. if u set off a armour rep (on my setup) it seems to eat ur power until it gets to about 60% then the cap regeneration seems to boost up and it is able to cope with the drain?? can someone explain this to me pls.

The rate at which your capacitor (and shields) recharge depends on how much is left. If you're at 90% cap, the recharge rate will be very small, but if you drop down to 80% the rate will be a bit higher. The recharge rate peaks at around 33%, so what you're seeing is normal: a module will begin depleting your cap, but as it does so the regeneration rate increases. Eventually it reaches a balance and stays stable -- in your case, that balance is reached at about 60%.
The downside of this is that, if your cap drops below 33%, it won't be stable, and in fact if you get to that point your cap will be depleted at an ever-increasing rate and hit zero pretty quickly.

Basically each module that requires a sertain amount of CAP to activate has a cycle time. For example if the cycle time of a module is 30 seconds, it will drain a sertain amount of cap every 30 seconds.
However depending on your skills, your ship's capacitor and your setup it is possible to run some modules indefinitely. For example you will be able to run a module on your ship and the capacitor will never go below a sertain amount (60% for example) because your skills and other modules are offsetting the drain that the active mod is having on the capacitor.

The ship fitting program QuickFit is very good. It'll tell you what your approximate peak recharge will be, and it has a cap simulator so you can test a setup and see if it's cap-stable.

Oh, and FYI, shields recharge in a similar way: peaking around %30. This is what can make passive shield tanking effective.

Quickfit is the best way to determine cap recharge rates and if your setup is sustainable, try it out.
