Gotcha!!
OK, no really, what worked for me is..
- Start a new Eve session
- If it locks leave it
- Start another session, this seems to possible force a different socket number.
- IF this fails start another...
- If this fails close all and try again..
Works..
For me anyway!

They are updating...give it a break...the server is going up and down, up and down,so its just luck your getting in.......you may be getting booted here shortly.
I say go do something else for a few hours and come back to give them time to stable it out.
