Ghoest	Posted - 2006.08.26 14:06:00 - [1] Im flying along low sec in my well tanked Ferox(cheap but tough). 3 sniper pirates at a gate tear into me. They have some great DPS going but my cheese ship flys away rather handily. I dont complain. I couldnt get to my destination, but I play EVE because I want the challenges. But as Im flying away one of the pirates tells local how good my tank is. In return I roll out a nasty putdown. The pirate and his buddies become up set and complain I dont know what the game is about. Umm hello? You just tried to blow up my space and steal my stuff. Pirating isnt a friendly game of handball. Pirating is when you leave the handball court and thug smacks you on the head and takes your wallet. If you ran away from the thug do you really want to have him call you later that night and compliment you for running fast? Im completely in favor of pirates being in EVE. But Im sick of pirates acting like we clean players should accept them instead of treating them like social pirahs. Wherever you went - here you are.

I play a PvP game, and I don't insult people, or expect them to insult me because of how the game works. I'm not (at least don't consider myself) an *****, but I will happily shoot whatever you have, wherever it is if I think it will turn a profit. If I have a good fight, I will tell you so. If your tank is awesome, I may well compliment you on it. Does it make you feel cool knowing that you insulted someone being nice to you just because they killed your pixels? Words cost nothing anyway. If you want to roleplay a bitter victim, feel free, and *** all you like towards other people roleplaying, but most people won't. They fight for fun and hold no ill will against you. I'm pretty sure a lot of the people I kill are nice guys in real life, and I'd get along well with them. Why should we suddenly start throwing hate aroudn because we're at opposite ends of a digital autocannon?

Indeed, what's about about this fella he doesn't what life in lowsec is all about, if you don't shoot everything on sight - you WILL get bored Although, sniping is a last resort and is only used to isk farming IF PVP is your only income. I expect there to be pirates. And pirates should expect to be treaded as theives and thugs in game. Now if I met the same guy IRL I wouldnt call him names. But I sure will in game.
