With main factions I mean Amarr, Caldari etc. IÆm a new player really; most I do is run missions because itÆs the safest way. At least thatÆs what I thought until I checked my standing tab.
Right now I have nearly -3 with Caldari state and -3 with the Amarr empire. I was told that, if I enter Caldari or Amarr 1.0 space I WILL get shot at already. Is this true? And how can I possible keep all 4 main factions above -2.5 so I can at least enter those systems without being shot at by npcÆs!
I looked at diplomacy; I was told this also affects the factions standing even though it doesnÆt say so. But even then, I will have to decline a lot of missions because they involve attacking Caldari or Amarr since IÆm doing Minmatar missions. None of the Caldari or Amarr agents will give me missions.
One of the things I checked was doing missions for The Interbus since they seem to have the least enemies. But they have no security agents with a decent quality.
Can anyone give me some advice on how to proceed here? How do missions runners survive if they canÆt even enter the capital systems of some of the main factions? This cant be true can it? Even pirates with a -5.0 or worse faction have a chance to fix it, but how do I fix this? And does anyone know the exact numbers for being attacked in 1.0 space by the ruling faction?
Any help is welcome,
Tiwanaku

You need a -5 to be KOS in whichever empire. I don't remember if it is -2 or -2.5 that you cant do missions.

Diplomacy skill trained at level 4 will make sure no faction standing will drop below -2.0 unless you keep running missions for a full year.

Another important point: unlike CONCORD if you've been a naughty boy, being attacked on sight by the Amarr and Caldari navies does *not* mean being killed on sight. They're actually not that hard to evade, withstand fire, or kill off. Sure, it means you can't wander about in a shuttle or a cheap industrial any more.
It's not yet too late for you to train Diplomacy and offset your losses by working Amarr agents as well as Minmatar ones, or some such: but, of course, by doing that, you also offset your gains with Minmatar and Gallente, so you wind up being tolerated by all, instead of loved by some and hated by others. ________________________________________________

I tried that but it seems to have little effect. First I did was train diplomacy II, so I could do agent missions again. Then I did about 10 missions for Imperial shipment(Amarr faction) the standing with them went up, but the Amarr standing did not. Even when I did show transaction for the Amarr empire nothing showed up.
Am I missing something?

Only Storyline Missions will improve your faction standing. You get them after every 16th mission or so.
