i ooad up eve and it comes up with the error that i only have dx8 and i need dx 9b, whats goin on i though vista came with dx10 and how can i solve it?

DX10 is not in bete which vista is currently in, as far as i am aware.
You can download DX9c from www.microsoft.com/downloads.

same thing here. and DX9c cannot be installed on vista.
eve won;t recognize DX10 as a compatible DX platform.
this is EVE's fault for not recognizing DX. not MS's fault.
i hope there is a patch soon because as it is, eve is unlayable on vista. (i get 4.3 frames a second on same system i get 56 frames a second with winXPsp2 installed).

i get to play by launching the game directly from the folder. not via shortcut in vista. and i chose to try anyway, i don;t slect yes to go to website for DX. lol. |

Eve doesnt support vista until kali.

ive got a good friend, hes solved it jus had to add a line to the registry

vista is in beta,why should they spend precious research(remember how we all moan at CCP with regards to their bugs)and time on code that is not finalised for public release ?

in the current user\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer\shellfolders
add the single string line
c:\windows\fonts
with the the name of the string exactly "Fonts"
this should make it work uwill still get the error about dx at the start but will make eve run.
