I recently started using a flatscreen monitor to play Eve after the old one blew. Im noticing a slight distortion in the text ingame and was wondering if there is any way to fix this? I see "dither" and other options in the graphics ESC screen but I dont know what they do. Help please?
PS The Monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster 731B.

Are you running the game in the displays native resolution?

Yes, flat screens needs to be run in native resolution (1280x1024 probably if you have 19") in order for everything to look as good as possible.
I run my desktop in 1280x1024 and eve in 1152x864 though (windowed, so it still looks good) because i like to fraps things and thats the maximum resolution it can handle.

ok this is an easy one, you probally have a bit blurry or fainted txt:
just fidle with the refreshrate ingame 60 - 70 - 72 - 75 Hz depending on your card, if this doesnt work, go outside of game to your settings and change them from there, be sure you are not 'forcing' any kind of refreshrate.
my first sentence should get you there

edit: if ! this doesnt work, fidle also with screensizes (native res etc) and the
refreshrate, theres alsways a combo that will ! work.

Ive seen this to. It works if I run the game at the same res as my dekstop, i.e. 1280x1024. But I dont want to... I want to have my little taskbar to change between other stuff. :P However, I can trick the program into displaying it correctly by changing the res to the one of my desktop and then change it back to the one i want.

ive seen something similar once before. to clear it i had to autoadjust the monitor set from the desktop. it was weird there was like greyed out lines over the text or somethign but that cleared ot for me. dunno if it will work for you though. hope you get it sorted
