OK, firstly I have to say I really like the game. This is not some random troll post slagging off CCP.
I did the trial for 10 days, and just subscribed about a week ago. I am now the proud owner of a Caracel and am having fun.
But.....
I had to go back to Jita tonight because I needed to fetch my Condor for a mission which won't allow cruisers.
After queuing for a minute at the stargate to Jita I was 'allowed' in.
Then I get to the station and get my condor and outfit it. Which took 15 minutes because of lag.
Then I exit and my screen goes black.
I give up after 5 mins of waiting for the lag to go, but no luck. So I quit the game and log back on.
I am now no 23 in queue to log on again.
ffs
not impressed with this. I will not be continuing my subscription if this is 'normal'.
So, is this normal? Or is the latest patch severely crapping things out?

Simple solution, stay out of jita. You can buy things in less congested systems.

As soon as you can, get a good 10-20 jumps away from Jita. If you stay away from the starting systems and the trade hubs, it's mostly fine. No need to force yourself into the most crowded area of the universe. There is just as good ore and agents at other places.

thanks - but this is what I was trying to do, but I had to go back for my frigate.
Is there a way of transferring frigates around? Or should I just sell/buy?

You can transfer frigates in 2 ways:
1) Get a shuttle, move to the frigate's location and switch ships
2) Repackage frigate and put him inside of an industrial ship's cargohold (frigates take up 2500 m¦ of space, so make sure you have enough)

Kaunokka is a major location for caldari navy agents, especially top-quality high-sec Level 3 ones. Hence, it's always at a high load due to the number of missions (and thus deadspaces, NPCs etc) being run.

If you're short on cash you can go back for your stuff, but I know I would gladly sacrifice it in this case. 
You could make a courier mission, but you would probably spend as much on it as you would on a new ship anyway. Just suck it up, brave the fields of lag, and hope you never have business in that system again.

5000 star systems..........but if you read the forums, you'd swear it was one.
Get outta the hubs, see the sights. I haven't had a single issue with this queing/lagging.......but of course staying the hell out of carebear central is a good reason for it.

I avoided working Navy agents since most player will mission ***** in lots of numbers.. which induce lag...

Tbh, thats not the problem. I'd be all for it IF it was limited to anything near Hubs, but it isnt.
Due to the Node-sharing of multiple systems you can be in the deepest 0.0, with 5 in your sys and 2 in the next system and you get a Queue for your whole gang.
Its dangerous sitting there in a hostile region on a gate having to wait 2 minutes to jump...

All cool pilots avoid Jita. There are 5000+ systems to live in. EvE != Jita.
