With the lag and current queue system, I think it is not more than fair for the paying player base to put a stop to trial accounts.
Not saying it should be a permaban, but how about letting the current ones run out and put a hold on new trial accounts till the server gets a bit more stable.
Getting queues like 74 people inline for jita with 650+ players in it and 20 minutes wait for random empty 0.0 systems is kinda absurd.
It's just a drop, but might help a little, taking of server load. |

There is a 3000 or 3500 maximum for trial acc connections to the server.

Better servers is not something for an overnight solution, unless u got some spare hamsters in your basement. ---- Add warp to 0km option, delete all current bookmarks ingame, remove aggro reset on jump, increase aggro timer to 30 minutes, remove secure can concord flagging. ---- |

Putting a stop to trial accounts doesn't allow new (potential) players to try out EVE-Online. Trial accounts (whilst not without some disadvantages) are important for helping the EVE player base to expand. Especially now with the new German client out, and with the Leipzig Games Convention just over, we should be seeing a larger number of people logging in and giving EVE a try.
Its important to make these new players feel welcome in our community and hope they stay with us.

Did you start on a trial account? If so, lets go back in time and ban all trial accounts one mintute before you signed up.
The problem with jita is a problem of jita, its a trading post, its like going to the mall when theres a humungous sale, like on the holidays. There are people in line after you too, so stop whining.

You are aware that CCP needs to make money?
You are aware that CCP spends almost nothing on advertising and relies on word of mouth for new players?
Tbh, you hang in Jita? What do you expect. You hang in a newbie system and expect all the newbs to leave?
I think you would get lonely if that happend.

Lemme rewrite quickly.. I am not saying that trial accounts should be booted. But as some1 stated b4.. 3000-3500 trials online if i read this correct is 10-15% of server load.
Let's drop that to a flat rate of 1500 max trials online or 1000.
Look at it this way: Would u buy a game that has severe server problems? Or would u rather get the message: to insure server stability for paying customers we have to reduce the amount of trial account logins at this time, pls enjoy your trial account when the server is less loaded.
Don't tell me that things are normal, when devs login, in Jita on their free sunday night to enjoy the total lagfree, queueless jumps to new caldari.
I don't wanna ban trialaccounts, but would like the server to be emergency patched with everything possible. And trial accounts might just be a simple solution for a few weeks.
Duckm4n Vo, I started paying in 2004 somewhere without trial.. doesn't change the current serverload tho.
Kriz Lupin, of course I goto jita sometimes, as it is a trade hub, and I do sell tech II crap to market from time to time, doesn't make me hang around longer than the 22 minutes queue that I need to get in, 30 seconds to drop of the load and put it on sell order and another 27 minutes queue to leave the damn trade hub again. Besides Jita should not be a noobie system, many threads about that so let's leave that there. ---- Add warp to 0km option, delete all current bookmarks ingame, remove aggro reset on jump, increase aggro timer to 30 minutes, remove secure can concord flagging. ---- |

I ask you what is more important right now? New customers or old customers? I think eve should shut down trial accounts until they get sever stability back. Take care of your existing loyal customer base that has been with you for years and then try to expand when you have the room too.
Eve is currently running at the max and anyone who canÆt see that is blind. The game after dragon patch is in a horrible state with lag. With this being a PVP game sever stability is key and it is something that is getting worse and worse.

Not being funny but new players is the last thing CCP should be concerned about until the game can feasibly support the existing playerbase, nevermind an expanded one. If I opened a new account now with the game in it's current state, rather than 2.5 years ago, there's no way on earth I'd subscribe. -

Today in my interceptor I nailed an insta, and was told I had to wait. I waited for nearly a minute, just sitting there, unable to jump. In 0.0. The gate was surrounded by blue contacts, but they could have been red. The night before, they were.
Had I been in any kind of combat situation, I would have likely died, no questions asked.

More players, more lag. Also trial accounts are being used for certain stuff that is not under control of the devs. I vote for a stop of trials for some time until the server is more stable and when it really can handle at least 35-40k players with easy and not with heavy lag. Anyone remember kieron¦s post saying that the current server (at that time) can handle 100k easily?

I dont experience lag in Jita...
All you gotta do is close your overview while you are there, it reduces lag to nothing (works in fleet fights too.....cept you might wanna turn it on after your done warping )
And you don't even need your overview in Jita unless you are at war. __ _ __ _ __ _ __ _ __ _ __ _ __ _ __ _ __ _ __ I don't have a sig |

Edited by: SonOTassadar on 28/08/2006 06:05:13 Edited by: SonOTassadar on 28/08/2006 06:04:32 The que to log in is necessary. It actually has its own advantages, such as preventing log-in traps. However, the que to jump, while I haven't encountered it myself, simply put, is breaking this game. I don't know a day that goes by in which I log in and don't use a jump gate. They are one of the very foundations that holds Eve together. I agree, the gate ques need to be removed, and they need to be removed before CCP starts losing a significant portion of their customer base. Whether that be getting new servers, or change the netcode to effectively balance server load, or whatever crazy concoction CCP has planned, it needs to come to fruition soon. Not SoonÖ; soon. ___________________________ |

Have all noob corp people thrown into a brand new Eve region. Until they join a player corp, they are unable to get out of that region, and player corp people are unable to get into it.
Should get everyone off their asses and into corps, also limiting people from being able to clog up systems, and use alts for stupid jobs.

Well I don't notice the big "LAG" is it in Jita you experience this ??? if it is .. GET OUT OF JITA !!!! problem solved.
QUEUE ? ... never had that problem either... is it like that because you logged off in Jita ??? then GET OUT OF JITA!!!.. Problem solved.
Stopping trials will just be a BAD idea... and not really solving anything.

A lot of people aren't realising this for what it is. It is by no means restricted to Jita. To give you an idea, during euro time (approx a few hours after d/t) set destination somewhere ie 30 jumps. You will see that 3/4 of those destinations have "traffic advisories". This means that there may or may not be a queue at the gates in those systems.
Due to these traffic advisories, it took me 25 jumps to get from Sinq Laison to Domain (which is normal) however with autopilot and a fast little kessie, the trip (normally approx 15 mins) took closer to 1.5 hours due to having to wait at gates all over the place.
And not a single one of these jumps went to Jita, or any other major hub system. At least, this is what I believe people are mainly speaking about.

I stongly disagree with the idea of stopping the trial accounts policy. Even telling trial players to go away because the server is overloaded will do more harm than good because ppl will get the idea that there is something wrong with the server. It's in much better shape than a lot of others i hear all the time.
As for traffic advisories. I run around the empire all the time and i havent had any more problems traversing "traffic advisories" as i did 2 month ago. From Jita to Amarr i get 4-5 traffic advisories but in reality it's smooth sailing all the way
