First of all, why would someone anchor a secure cargo can at a moon? Stop-over from mining? It doesn't hold enough to be worth the trouble.
Future POS site? hmm....
How does that work? If I scan a moon and find something worth mining and there is no pos there, just somebody's cargo can, is the moon mine to mine? :)
I tried to anchor and setup a POS and I can't because something is already anchored there. That is the message I get. If I take the security hit and blow up the can, the moon is free, right? It's not like there is Promethium on the moon, it's only got Silicates and Hydrocarbons, but I need them.
To be nice, I sent the guy an email saying to remove his can or set-up his POS. I gave him 24 hours to respond.
What does the community think about this? Is this an acceptable practice of calling a moon yours by putting a secure can there?

Back when we were setting up our first POS, we had this problem. Someone on posfuntime told us to petition it as an exploit. And it worked. GM removed the can for us. :)

Yep just shoot off a petition, problem solved.
Usually it doesnt take long at all when you file under exploit.'

We had that problem, didnt know we could petition it so just blew up the can. Minor sec hit but no big deal. 2 Thoraxes and it was done in no time.

cans got their hit points greatly decreasd after people start using them to stop other people placing pos at moons.
Still worth talk to the corp and asking them if you can remove it just so their no hard feeling ect.
Are your sure this moon is worth the trouble harvesting, make sure the final reaction your making is worth than the time + fuel cost the just buying it on the market.

more fun to blow up the cans
better still, when you blow up the can and a day later the person who placed it warps to the pos, which is set to gank anyone not in your corp / alliance
