nope thats how eve goes, why should they deprive themselves to get a good char b/c there was an incident between the buyer and another person. If this is not a scam, then i would think its fine to bid on.

I had a similar auction where I called buyout with a contingency of positive standings. Someone posted 2 hours later upping the buyout offer. The seller made up some bull(#$# about the character having bad standings because he was -1.3 to Serpentis or something and sold the character to the other bidder. Neither would respond to my contact requests to discuss it. Both are -10 to me and will be shot on sight should I ever encounter them.

Even if he called BO then what? All you can do now is blame character owner that he has no honor etc. Even if theres a BO he has right not to accept it. Read sell orders rules - theres no word about "Seller must sell item after buyout has been called".
I only write here because this player dosent know price of his char and he made a mistake. Not everyone in this game is PRO like other mega 'stars', 'bosses' here and there. He deserves what he wants for this char so STFU about buying it for cheap isks and pay him fair price.

Urm arent we missing the point here , shes stated buy out at 15bil and reserve of 10bil , how on earth can u call buyout of 6.5bil. No where did she agree to the buy out so any one who moan abt calling a stupid buy out should be quiet

right, I am a complete nooblet at Eve, and I know very little about the whole verse etc I'm sure I'll be flamed.
But it is pretty damn clear to me that the seller has spent a LONG time with this character, and is now hoping for a decent price.
The seller is inexperienced at this and made a silly mistake of putting in a very low buyout price. They later amended the buyout price to a sensible amount.
By this time someone had called buyout, and starts getting angry. And people start talking about honour.
Personally....I think that taking advantage of an inexperienced seller to basically fleece them for several BILLION ISK is a bit lacking in the honour dept.

but im not sure what type of a scammer you are ruining peoples auctions
if i made a mistake and its my first time selling my character here after lots of years of playing and put a low buy out i changed it before anyone made any clear remarks that they take it as you can see
if that makes me a scammer then so be it
but i suggest if you are not interested in bidding on it dont bother to make people scammers just cause you think so

Inexperienced seller of 40+ mil sp character can always do PC at designated forums, or simply ask what the he/she worth. I think this auction is a scam (account is hacked or something between this lines).

If I was Self Fish I would petition this auction to a GM and make him sell the character for the 6.5bil buyout as listed. You can see the editing times are 6hrs after he calls buyout.....GM should really step in here and end this

I know the character owner can do whatever she wants. Does that mean morals and intregrity and honor do not apply? I never asked for her to be banned or for her to be forced to sell the character to me. I simply asked that she not try to save face by blaming me because she is greedy and ignorant (of market prices/proceedures).

There was no "incident" between me and the seller. I called buyout. She decided the buyout she had previously set was too low, she decided to edit her post and say my buyout did not count. I *did not* insult her in any way or call her a scammer. I simply wanted, as everyone else did, to see some evidence that she is the character owner. There is nothing wrong or abnormal about that.

Her original buyout was 6.5 billion. She edited it many hours after I called buyout.

Show me where I called the seller a scammer. I simply said I'd like to buy the character. And that if the seller cannot provided proof that she owns the character (since none had yet been given) then my offer is null. There is nothing rude about that.

If the seller was inexperienced and made an honest mistake with her buyout price, she should just admit it instead of trying to save face and edit her post and blame things on someone else. As others have said, how can you own a 40+ million SP character and not know the worth of your character or how to easily find the worth of it? Who would sell such an asset without doing even the most basic of preliminary research? At any rate, my problem was that she made a deal, then broke it. And instead of fessing up, she greedily raised the price and tried to save face by blaming others.

I know you may try to claim you were only trying to be funny, but you also probably said what you just did because you think there is some truth to it. Notice that all I said in that other thread was:
"Buyout at 2 billion isk.
Please post confirmation. I'll try to be on all night etc, if you post a time when you will be on I'll be there."
How could that offend anyone?
PS: I've been trying to buy a character for 3 weeks. This is the 6th auction that has fallen through where I was the actual winner. All at no fault of my own.

nope dide sel is right you don't have to follow your word but agreed apon rules dictate you do, if you make buyout hold to it or be conidered a lier and dishonst player that is all there is like it or not.
