Anyway to check server status?? I was online last night and dropped at around 11:00 CST. Couldn't connect after that. Nothing this morning either. New to this game, so I don't know all the ropes... yet.

Edited by: Varalonia on 29/08/2006 11:52:53 There's scheduled downtime daily between 11.00 -12.00 GMT/Eve-time As for your connection dropping last night I couldn't really give you an answer - although I believe a lot of people have been suffering from persistant disconnections.

Yes, It's down.
MOTD says database issues. Wait a few hours and it should be fine ... possibly.

I've gotten the same proxy message.
But let me rephrase my original question: is there a way to check server status online? (simply to check if it's me who's having the problem!!)
Also, is there a way to check in-game latency? I asked in Rookiechat and the best answer I received was a traceroute or ping at the command prompt! What is this Ultima Online, circa 1997??

WTF ............ this is frakkin BS.. look i know the gamedev's have their hands full and the like but OMG come on there is a client side to this bargain and lately it has been complete ****.
dont update the game till you got the existing stuff working properly.Hey it might sound naive. all this DT really starts to add up

And how do you propose to get 'existing stuff working properly' without updates...

It's boring to have so many crashes and problems. but is a good lesson for the next implementation.

what's the ip address for TQ so we can see if the server is up without the client?
[rant] All this downtime is starting to make me angry. I just started to play over a month ago and it's been ok, but lately it seems to have gotten worse. Last night, I'm mid-combat when my acs refuse to reload and then I can't warp away. Finally, the server kicks me off (good in this case, because I was about to be killed by some frigging rats), and now I sit around and wait for 20 minutes before I can log in, change to a skill train that will finish around when I wake up in the morning and go to bed. Wake up, and lo and behold, the server is down. It's one thing to tell people you are taking the servers down, it's another thing entirely to have crashes this frequently.
I work in the tech industry, and if our servers went down this frequently, without warning or explaination, we wouldn't have very many customers. Please get your act together CCP. Please focus on providing your paying customers with QUALITY service. [/rant]
