I was flying around doing some missions when I thought "You know what would be cool if I could command my ship like a real captain. Yelling commands to my subordinates instead of pressing stupid buttons."
I quickly found this simple program Shoot. It allows you to bind voice commands to key strokes. Now when I want to fire my missiles or activate my afterburner all I do is say it and it happens.
I wouldn't use it in a pvp situation as it is not 100% reliable but doing missions with it is 100% awesome.

You are either;
a) in a basement
b) in the countryside
c) widely regarded by neighbours as a lunatic
But I do like the idea

You're in a pod, there is no bridge crew to yell orders to. And you control most of the functions of the ship with your mind. Most pod pilots can go through many ships without meeting the crew that keep everything that the pilot cant control working. I would imagine there is an officer to order them around, though.

If you're in a pod, and you have no crew...... then why are all of the ships fitted with co-ckpit windows, as well as many, many windows along the side of the bigger crafts? .
If someone wants to believe they've got a crew manning their ship, then they have a crew manning their ship.
Edit: co-ckpit is not a swear word, stupid filter.

Wow that would go great with my P5 Glove...
And before anyone asks... yes it works very well (once you get set up... and it's a minor IQ test). But it does have one fatal flaw common to all gloves, its hard to use for long because you have to hold you had in the air :P
I am widely regarded as crazy.

I tried a program like that once.
Did not set it to enable/disable on click or keystroke and one of my kids entered the room. We chatted a little and then I frightened the little one by shouting an expletive as I noticed I had inadvertantly opened fire on a station, fired all weapons and was quickly podded by the cops.

So, yeh, not really reliable, unless you take a very very long time to train for precise response to precise commands, and even then it's not trustworthy.

Stories are told of pod pilot heroes flying on the side of the Caldari during the twilight years of the Gallente-Caldari war, executing maneuvers unthinkable to those encumbered with a full crew complement and the bothersome necessity of using vocal commands and hand-eye coordination to steer their vessels.
In short, there is no crew. The pod neural interface replaces the need for any onboard crew of any kind. ---------------------

You are not entirely correct. It states no need for FULL crew. No mention that they abolished them completely.

You do have a crew, Just no bridge crew. The pod pilot replaces the bridge crew, as he was meant to.

Wow. I didn't expect this to turn into angument about the (non)existance of a crew.
That issue aside I really recomond you try out this program. It is a lot of fun.

So you should scream stuff like "clean the B5 Corridor maggots!" and "There isn't enough whiskey in the podtubes damn it, move it maggots!" and not actually lines like "Fire the missles!", "f1,f2,f3 maggots".

Howdy Muulis hows it going?!
Funny to see you on the forums :)
Anyway sounds cool, besides voice commands make more sense for a neural interface than clicking buttons on a "screen" doesnt it? Seriously how would you fire weapons in your mind, most likely by thinking "fire all blasters" right?
As far as the whole crew no crew thing, I know the PF states there is a crew but man that seems silly when there are sentient drones running around and nanobots that can repair armor back to mint condition, why is there a crew again, oh yeah maintenance!? I prefer to believe my ship is equiped with a drone crew so I don't feel so bad when I lose it :S

"Okey dokey, let's fire blue particle cannons full. Fire red particle cannons full. Fire gannet magnets left and right. Fire pulse catapults from all chutes. And throw this thing at him too, killer."
