I've been "researching" POS's for a couple of days now and im starting to understand most of technicalities, but I was wondering if its economically efficient to put like 6 harvesters (just a guess) on a control tower along with some reactors and use the POS as just a harvester to make money?
Also, if anyone knows of any cool ways people have used POS's other then the expected use of them (low sec. mining pirating, labs, and other stuff)?

Economically feisable to put 2 moon harvesters and a reactor yes.
You wouldn't be able to get 6 on there, and react, nor are there moons with six different moon minerals.
But a direct answer to your question, oh yeah, you make monies all the time with reactions, usually.

Alright thx man, I read that you can only have a harvester mine one type but I didnt know only one harvester could mine that type. Is there a guide to reactions somewhere that you know of, or can you tell me the vital skills? Thank you again :)

No skills required, but there are numerous threads about reacting in this forum. So you can read their questions and learn from that. Eve Search may help.
As for reactions, the in-game market is the best choice for that as you can view all the reactions possible. Uncheck the show only available box at the bottom left to see everything, even if it's not supplied in your region.

The primery perpose of pos is T2 production (well when they were first released any way) and I'm not quite sure how one would get a pos to gate gang ect.
It all depends on what moon materials you can find and if their worth harvesting, reacting ect, use the info in the stick threads in this section of the forum to work out profitable and you should be fine.
oh and always do your math with buying the ice your need
