God's Army and Orc A. You guys ***** me up. If I were in your alliance I would ask you to stop posting. But I am not. So keep it coming.
Or take a talk with zykerx, who seems to have a slightly more levelheaded approach to the assesment of the situation.
We can keep pulling numbers out the behind, but the fact of the matter is that not much has changed since your offensive started as far as the front lines go.
If anything we felt under more pressure in the beginning than we do now. Because, yes, Ratel may be out of the blue, and we had quite a contingent of players to whom 0.0 life was new and uncharted. Fortunately your fire has been a forge more than devastation.
And yes there are people that are willing to back us up. Some for favours in one shape or another, but thankfully also quite a few that value us as a group or value some individuals. And some that simply revels in the chance for some pvp.
I will be the first to admit you had us backwheeling in the beginning trying to get a footing. Fires had to be put out here and there - and here again. That was to be expected as a relatively new alliance and new presence and clearly undergunned - manpower and experiencewise.
But I see things shaping up and the fights keep getting better and more entertaining in my opinion.
And I wish to support Aerick Dawn when he says that we harbour no animosity or distrust towards SMASH apart from what must be cultivated in the group to stoke the bloodlust.
But what Roadkill pulled have stained them forever. You don't leave a nap or a friendly relationship no warning and guns first. Period.

And you can quote Sun Tzu all you want. Maybe you should focus more on actually applying it. You have forgotten that diplomacy and trust is part of a battle that runs for far longer than any war or system invasion. Which the latest developments and current situation should illustrate quite precisely.
You traded very few and utterly inconsequensial gains over a very short period of time in one battle for a large loss in a grander scheme of things. Thats not deceit or misdirection. Quite the contrary.

Occ A, I would very much like to hear what mighty treasures you gained by suddenly attacking unknowing Ratel pilots without warning for half an evening - compared to actually informing us that a friendly relationship was no longer possible due to your close ties to Smash and giving just an inkling of time for the propagate through the organisation.
Oh, I am not questioning that you think you have gained/would gain something from the endeavour overall. But it is that specific little difference in how you started it, that is measured here and makes one hell of a difference. That is where you lost big and gained as close to nothing as you can get on the scale of this conflict.
And as far as being in _every_ battle? And if you haven't been in structure yet, but really been in every battle, then maybe you should field some damage mods instead of seeing youor friends go pop pop around you like they did yesterday.
And as far as being proud of ourselves because FE lends a hand, well.. Organisation and who you know is part of the game. We are not the ones trying to make this a war of egoes and genitalia measuring.

And what is it that you think we've "lost" in this conflict? I think you should think hard about the diffrence between a loss and a pre-calculated sacrafice.
If you sacrifice something, its still lost. You lost credibility.
And you are clearly not reading what I am writing.
Please, oh please, tell me what you gained by backstabbing us for a few shipkills, compared to being upfront and honest about it and waiting for a short time? Just compare the two options and tell me what you gained that was significant by going with option a and not b.
I was only making references to your fittings (I don't think I commented your ability?) because you bragged about your survivability very close after your corp had an incident where that was not the common trait. I am not the one constantly referencing personal abilities or supposed heroics.
And I totally understand what a small part of the Eve universe I am. But that is not the scale we measure ourselves against.
I am simply trying to set the record straight for those who wanted to know the situation and being aware I am biased, trying to keep it clean of insubstantiated claims to best of my ability. There might be subjective evaluations on concepts that are less quantifiable, granted. But that I hope is clear.

I do believe that Soryn has acknowledged that fact in an earlier post. We implore our pilots to post both kills and losses, but as you say, people are better at posting the first ones. :) But we do our best to punk people to post the latter also.
In fact I would welcome it if you send me kill mails or a compilation of them, of the kills you make against us. We have no interest in having our board reflect less than the state of things.
That being said I do not expect numbers to be wildly off base.
The Ratel killboard is for many reasons not public.
Don't have the numbers compiled precisely, but it looks as if you are right. TFUNK might indidually be doing fine against us. Gotta fix that. Mind you, those totals are for the entire engagement. Soryns was for a specific period of time.
Other than that: Couple of big, good and expensive fights over the weekend. Local chat active without being too smackish. Good stuff. :)

I agree that kill counts and claims don't count for much, and I think they were mainly posted to put other claims in perspective.
As an account on how things are going, I don't see that we cannot pop in once in a while and add to the tale. :) Theres tons of stories in Eve. No reason this should not be told. Thats hardly moronic if done in a decent tone and with a somewhat level approach to the reality of things.
With few exceptions I don't see much ego stroking or many wild claims here.
