CSM is based on a somewhat older business model that usually makes sense in the right context. EVE is pretty big and sometimes changes, much like sometimes feel CSM dont apply. Plus you might read and post in general discussion more then the forum page they are usually in and such.
They are like a tool sometimes use the hammer or screwdriver when its called for. At the alliance tournament they took general questions from the playerbase and then like CSM its nice having a more private conversation then an open playerbase one. It all depends on the circumstances and which sounds funner. |

CCP created 2 distinct groups of players, those who want more WiS and those who want more FiS.
CCP can listen to the players all they want. What they can't do is stop civil war that they have created.

The problem there's not a "the players". CCP doesn't try very hard to actually know what the in-game players think. The CSM is a very sorry excuse for a player representation. CCP better does in-game polls and surveys and not a voting system that's used by 10% of the players and subsequently have a little more over half of the votes actually count. Next to that, none of the representatives represent your views 100% anyway. The bias between what thew playersbase wants and thinks and what the CSM says and votes for is huge.
So CCP can't listen to the players because there's no way for the players to "speak". |

Not to be negative, but....isn't that why the CSM was formed in the first place?
Seriously, we complained that we weren't being listened to (which caused a major public-relations retooling and cost some very good people their jobs), and now we complain about the one direct line of contact that we have with CCP.
So, which is it: ditch the CSM and have no voice whatsoever, or keep the CSM and continue to have a 'Red Phone' into CCP itself? |
